The second view is that these various phenomena that appear are defiled by habitual tendencies and, although they do not exist, they appear like seeing hairs falling, which is a false appearance. They think like this. Among these views, there are subdivisions: in the former (consciousness), the grasper and the grasped are equal in number, like half an egg; and multiple things are non-dual. The latter can be divided into two types: with defilements and without defilements. Like this, relying on the final sutras of the Buddha, such as the Avatamsaka Sutra and the Ratnakuta Sutra, five hundred Mahayana teachers of Abhidharma meditation and so on appeared and promoted the flourishing of the Mind-Only school. Later, after Nagarjuna appeared, the Mind-Only school seemed to disappear, and the Mahayana Madhyamaka school flourished and developed. Secondly, if the Mind-Only school believes that the mind, which is merely clear and aware, is the ultimate truth, and believes that this is merely imputed and ultimately exists, then it will fall into the extreme of permanence. If it is believed that it does not exist in one's own system, will it fall into the extreme of annihilation? No, because in the ultimate sense, there is no object to be negated, so it is not considered necessary to negate it. The above and so on are to refute the former's wrong views. Moreover, the Yogacara Madhyamaka school does not believe that the mind is unreal, etc., and is similar to the Svatantrika school, and classifies the Sautrantika, Mind-Only, and Sarvastivada schools as schools that assert inherent existence, believing that they have not truly seen the ultimate truth. In one's own system, there are also two different conclusions. In addition, there are different views when temporarily determining through hearing, thinking, etc.; what ultimately needs to be practiced is inner yoga. All-Knowing Dharma King and others also think like this. Among them, the first is self-emptiness, which believes that in the ultimate sense, not even a particle of phenomena that truly exists exists. In terms of classification, there are two types: Svatantrika and Prasangika. The first can be divided into two types: Sautrantika-Madhyamaka and Yogacara-Madhyamaka. The former is called that because it has the same views as the Sautrantika and Mind-Only schools. However, the internal differences are very subtle. The views of these schools are: in the conventional sense, in the face of deluded consciousness, all phenomena exist; in the ultimate sense, in the face of non-deluded nature, all phenomena do not exist. The former believes that what appears and has function is true conventional truth.
