Translation. From the teaching on the path of the ten virtuous actions, these ten virtuous actions are the cause of all higher states and definite goodness, therefore, as disciples of the Buddha, one should train in them. It also says that those who do not consider their own interests at all, but only desire the benefit of others, and who are always compassionate, generally do not allow anything related to the three mental misdeeds or wrong views themselves to occur. This can be confirmed by consulting the scriptures of the Bodhisattva Pitaka. This was written by the venerable Lhajong Yang. End of page 23. In "Dispelling Sorrow," composed by the master Ashvaghosa: Thus all who are born, Death stands before them, All appear to depart, Therefore, there is no need to grieve. Those who crave friendship and companionship, Are tormented by sorrow, Like a bee attached to the drum, The hunter lies in wait in the forest. When all must go, And go to that place, Those who have gone there before, Why then grieve? To the unbearable lord of death, This being who is utterly intoxicated, Like a deer before a lion, Stands helpless in the forest. When there is no method, To avert death, Do not prolong the merriment, What is the use of struggling like a fish in water? On earth or in the heavens, Has anyone been born and not died? Have you seen or heard of such a thing? Or do you still have doubts? In all these three realms, All are burned by the fire of impermanence, Like a fire blazing in the wilderness, How is the fire of the wilderness similar? If one clings to the inverted notion of permanence and happiness, Even beings in the peak of existence, Are drawn by the noose of death, Like an elephant drawn by a rope. Experiencing the bliss born of meditation, Even born in the Brahma realm, But because of impermanence, they fall, Like the collapse of a riverbank. Hundreds of Indras and thousands, Hundreds of universal monarchs, Are also killed by time, Like a burning lamp extinguished by the wind. The great sages with five superknowledges, Even those who can travel far in the sky, Where is there a realm of immortality? There is no one who can go there. Where the earth

All will be burned, Mount Sumeru (lhun po) will also collapse into ashes, and the water of the ocean will dry up, what to say of sentient beings? If the bodies of the Buddhas, adorned with excellent marks and signs, even the vajra body is impermanent, then what need to mention sentient beings who are like water bubbles or banana trees, without essence? Thus it is said. Also, in hell, repeatedly drinking molten copper, the amount of which is such that even the water of the ocean cannot compare. Thus it is said. Separated from loved ones and friends, the tears wept in samsara, the container filled with tears from the eyes, even the ocean cannot contain it. Thus it is said. Again, he (the author) wrote to King Kanishka (ka ni ṣa), saying: The Lord of Death is like an enemy, who will suddenly descend, do not think to do it tomorrow, but rely on the excellent Dharma. Do not say to do this today and that tomorrow, for this is not good for people. The day you disappear, that tomorrow will surely come uninvited. Thus and so on. Even hundreds or thousands of times, one has not been a human in the world. Because these have not been done, foolish people will do them again and again. Therefore, this sentient being without beginning has not yet been liberated. Thus it is said. Therefore, to extract the essence from the "Garland of Precious Minds" and expound it, this is indeed an excellent method of practice. Here, the nature of mind is inherently luminous, constantly in a state of non-discrimination, but because the body and speech are like servants, they are disturbed by sudden afflictions and proximate afflictions. Therefore, these must be completely abandoned, and the luminous nature, clear as crystal, must be liberated from disturbance. Just this alone can attain non-abiding nirvana. Therefore, the mind spoken of here, disturbed and generating discrimination, the body and speech driven like servants, there are four situations: the root of all is multiple discrimination, as well as strong desire, hatred, and ignorance. Among them, for those with much discrimination, it should be abandoned by focusing on the samadhi of the wind element, namely counting, following, abiding, as well as attention and transformation, there are six in total. Among them, the first is counting, which is when inhaling...
