It is said that there are very many such things. Among them, there are seven categories of offenses: Parajika, Sanghavasesa (7), the gross offenses of both, Prayascitta, Pratidesaniya, Siksamana, and offenses to be suppressed. Among these, this offense leads to defeat by engaging in what causes one to be defeated, hence it is called Parajika. If this offense occurs, then bedding, food, etc., are used as leftovers after the elder, middle, and younger Sangha members, hence it is called Sanghavasesa. Among all the offenses to be confessed, this is the most serious, hence it is called a gross offense. Because it is numerous and has its own nature, and because it is a variety of things to be abandoned, it abides by striving to abandon it, hence it is an offense. Because it must be confessed, it is called Pratidesaniya, or because it is appropriate to confess separately, it is called Pratidesaniya. Because it is an offense that can be repaired by confession, it is called an offense to be confessed. Because one truly vows not to do so again, it is restored, hence it is to be suppressed. These are the seven categories of offenses. It is said. In the ascetic forest dwelling, fame and honor arise, Enemies come through the door of friendship. Like a lotus to moonlight, It thoroughly destroys the relaxed asceticism. It is said. The cause of morality is said to be the restraint of the senses. With this perfection, one will have immaculate morality. Therefore, the nature of hearing, looking, and focusing, One should protect one's own senses from wandering into objects. It is better to have a burning iron skewer Applied to the eyes. Engaging in the actions of one's own bad destinies, One should not look at forms with attachment and hatred. It is better to have burning molten iron Filling the ears. Increasing carelessness, attachment, and pride, The sound surpassing the hunter's songs. Hearing what is not beneficial to oneself, one should not listen. Looking at the nose and with a sharp razor, It is better to endure the disease of scraping clean. Increasing various sufferings for oneself, One should not increase the enemy of attachment to smells. With a sharp weapon of burning flames, It is better to cut off the tongue in front.

One should not act like that, committing sins born of attachment. A wise person, with the sharp sword of their own body as an enemy, Completely cutting it, it will be destroyed, Various kinds of arrogance, tormented by desire, One should not be born in hell for a long time. Therefore, guard the vows rather than acting as one pleases. Sins that give rise to endless suffering, etc., The taming of the remaining senses does not exist either. Therefore, the wise should guard it. A wise person, regarding the faults of desire, should cultivate ugliness, Regarding hatred, should cultivate loving-kindness and compassion, Regarding ignorance, should cultivate the thought of impermanence and death, Should guard with mindfulness and vigilance. Thus it is said. If one can properly guard the precepts, Then the fire of regret will be extinguished. By the cause of arousing joy and extreme reverence, One can generate virtuous actions of body, speech, and mind. The path to enter the city of liberation, The path to attainments for humans and gods, there is no second. By the cause of generating fame, reputation, and happiness, One will not be shaken by harm and slander. One will not abandon the guru, disciples, and good friends, Becoming the gate of happiness that is not despised. One can guide to be similar to the holy ones, Becoming a ritual for increasing merits. If one possesses these, the merits of the wise, Will become a vessel for the great ones. What are the faults of breaking the precepts? One should completely abandon that fault. One will be praised by the holy Dharma, And will also understand the joy of merits. Possessing the opportunity to know the differences, Oneself will be worthy of praise with merits. Having the same destiny as the holy ones, One's own merits are vast and humble, One will not be stained by the faults of breaking the precepts, And will not obtain the suffering arising from it. The lord of humans, the lord of the thirty-three, If one wishes to obtain, even until the end of samsara, With pure precepts, one can obtain, The root of accomplishing wishes is also precepts. Thus it is said. Also, the twelve qualities of practicing this are these: solitude, wearing rag robes, begging for alms, sitting on a single seat, constantly squatting, not eating excessively, possessing three Dharma robes, wearing felt robes, dwelling wherever, dwelling in cemeteries, dwelling under trees.
