Later, what is not permissible is neither entering nor practicing both. Fourth, that which possesses special characteristics is said to be the supreme of the victors because all characteristics are complete, and thus empowerment is given sequentially in all three mandalas. Again, it is said to be fivefold: Those who are not familiar with bodhicitta are placed in the mandala, and only seeing the face of the deity, it is not permissible to give empowerment to the practitioner. 1. After being placed in the mandala and seeing, they are made to meditate on bodhicitta, and at other times, mantras and mudras are given to the practitioner, and they are completely accepted. 2. Seeing the two mandalas of body and speech, and immediately showing the mantra-mudra and applying it to corresponding actions and activities, this refers to those who are familiar with bodhicitta. However, permission to empower an unskilled person as a teacher is not given. 3. Either the two mandalas of body and speech, or either one, are obtained according to the empowerment ritual, but a new mandala is not obtained. 4. Not only body and speech, but also empowerment into the secret mandala, which is the same as the previously mentioned complete characteristics. 5. Sixth, previously not having seen the mandala, therefore not having received the vidya-mantra, and entering the mandala only for the sake of taking vows. 1. Seeking the supreme, intermediate, and inferior siddhis, after entering the mandala, not having made bodhicitta familiar, but making it familiar, thereby striving for practice with the attainment of vidya-mantra as the preliminary. 2. Whether bodhicitta was previously familiar or not, in any case, not having received vidya-mantra and secret mantra, for the distinctions of vidya-mantra and secret mantra, making the mind very firm with the wisdom arising from hearing and thinking, thereby entering the mandala where great compassion arises, or the mandala surrounded by the wheel of letters, and then seeking the empowerment arising from that as a teacher. 3. The previously mentioned sequence, even if empowerment as a teacher has been obtained, also seeking empowerment into the secret mandala, that is, after entering the secret mandala, receiving the empowerment arising from that. 4. Those who have vows from the beginning, whether they have received vidya-mantra or not, whether they have obtained the method of a teacher or not, their own.
