This is considering that poetry of mundane speech should not be made. Furthermore, the Sutra says, "For the sake of clarifying the sacred Dharma, poetry should be made," and so on. Moreover, if all fields of knowledge are summarized, they can be summarized into two aspects, inner and outer. If explained a little more, there are three: cessation and contemplation, and subsequent holding. Five: grammar, logic, crafts, medicine, and inner knowledge. On top of these five, adding poetry, prosody, drama, rhetoric, astrology makes ten. And the eighteen fields of knowledge mentioned in the Vinaya-vibhanga, and so on. Furthermore, if divided very extensively, various arts can also be included. At that time, in the Mahavyutpatti there are 28 arts, and in the commentary on the Vinaya-ksudrakavastu it is summarized into sixty-four. Similarly, Acharya Dandin also composed a fourth chapter called "A Compendium of Arts." In addition, there are merchants, potters, garland makers, wine sellers, herdsmen, weavers, oil pressers, blacksmiths, carpenters, diviners, cloth makers, leather workers, kings, dyers, bamboo workers, butchers, outcastes, chariot makers, etc., eighteen kinds of crafts, and eight kinds of divination such as jewels, land, clothes, trees, horses, elephants, men, women, which are also recorded in some sutras. The son of the sage Liau said: "Scratching with nails 1 and sowing 2, embracing 3 and intercourse 4, actions 5 and touching with hands 6, and various ways of speaking, wandering on men, etc., eight kinds, each of which has eight kinds, a total of sixty-four should be known." And so on, it is recorded in the treatises that consider there are sixty-four inner arts, which are countless. Here, for the time being, starting from the ten major and minor fields of knowledge that are universally known to all scholars, I will explain a little, please listen, and I will give correct words. Among them, the first is the craft of following others, which mainly includes body, speech, and mind. In the first aspect, there are two types, main and secondary. The main ones are building the supports of body, speech, and mind such as Buddha images, scriptures, and stupas, and various kinds of actions such as drawing mandalas. The secondary ones are among the eighteen crafts.
