It is a very vast field. In terms of linguistic skills, the main aspects include the Vajra songs with six branches and the exposition of Dharma. The minor aspects include songs that delight worldly people, expressions of love, and debates. In terms of mental skills, the main aspects are the three: hearing, contemplating, and meditating. The minor aspects are being skilled and proficient in the points of what to adopt and abandon, as stated in worldly treatises. The science of medicine is one of the four sciences and is synonymous with the life Veda that originated from the central face of Brahma. Furthermore, our teacher, Shakyamuni Buddha, also explained it incidentally in the Three Baskets and the great Vajra places of the Tantras. The now well-known "Four Medical Tantras" is said to have been extensively elaborated upon by the great scholar Lekshay Tsul (legs bshad 'tshol), who argued that outwardly it is the Buddha's word, inwardly it is a Pandit's treatise, and secretly it is a treatise composed in Tibet. King Pandit Buddha Abhi believes that what our teacher spoke in the Deer Park at Sarnath was translated into Tibetan by Thero and Yuthok Nyingma (g.yu thog rnying ma). Another version is a treasure (terma), transmitted through the oral instructions of the sovereign, which the monk Mönlam (grwa mngon) extracted from the treasure, and Yuthok Sarma (g.yu thog gsar ma) heard the oral transmission and added some useful content for Tibet. Furthermore, the "Eight Branches" composed by Palden Drapa is summarized into six places: first, pulse diagnosis, from chapter 1 to chapter 30; second, body parts, 6 chapters; third, diseases, 16 chapters; fourth, treatment, 22 chapters; fifth, ritual accomplishment, 6 chapters; and sixth, the end of life, totaling 120 chapters. Its commentary was written by Khache Dawa Ngöndak (kha che zla ba mngon dag), and so on. The content to be explained is: the eight branches, or what is to be treated, the healer, how to treat, and the four ways in which the healer is assembled. Although it could be explained in detail, it will not be elaborated on for now. The science of grammar, which refutes wrong views, is the method of proving the meaning of words appearing in the scriptures using correct Sanskrit. Among them, the common objects of discussion are: nature, function, definition, classification, generalization, and reading method. As it is said: letters, and logic, two or three letters combined, that which expresses the essence of things, is the name, the mind understands its meaning.

For reliance. (Quoting) and "Speech Circle." Among them, names are of two kinds: initial and subsequently formed. As it is said, without relying on reason, like calling something hot and burning "fire," it is an arbitrary initial name. Relying on reason, using a term that was previously well-known to name other things, such as calling a Brahmin's child, a Kashmiri with a short nose, "lion," is a subsequently formed name. The latter also has named subsequent formations, such as calling a rheumatic patient's stiff knee "wolf's tongue"; and corresponding to the actual name, applying a consistent subsequent formation, such as calling a beneficial thing "medicine." Having no connection with the actual naming, such as calling Mars "auspicious," is a reversed subsequent formation, totaling three kinds. Furthermore, there are naming the cause as the effect, such as purgatives and emetics; naming the effect as the cause, such as bile disease and wind disease; naming the support as the supported, such as life-force wind; naming the part as the whole, such as all kinds of medicines being complete; individual names such as nutmeg bringing comfort; the main name such as camphor 25; from the aspect of function, it is the harmonization of precious hot and cold; from the aspect of action, such as bloodletting and cauterization, and so on. Regarding words, what is commonly known in the scriptures is that the Pandit said: "Two or more names, expressing the difference in meaning, are clearly proclaimed in the Dharma, words are the collection of letters." According to grammarians, the "Immortal Treasury" says: "The expressing treatise, sound, having सुप् (sup) and तिङ् (tiṅ) endings are words." Among them, the teacher Blo-gros brtan-pa said: "Expressing the essence of things is the name, showing its difference is the word, not showing anything is the letter." The object of non-common grammar is: "Nature, base, and name." As the base mentioned in the sutras and treatises, and having the meaning of losing the base and case endings, is a symbol or name. Suffixes are what make the nature of sound into any kind of name or word, divided into three kinds: transforming the base into a symbol, into a word, into a base; transforming the symbol into a symbol, into a name, into a base, into a word, totaling seven kinds. "Nature is related to suffixes, or only related to letters, changing and removing are variations." The former are सुप् (sup), तिङ् (tiṅ), कृत् (kṛt), तद्धित (taddhita), the latter is changing and removing through the connecting सूत्र (sūtra).
