It is so. The texts that demonstrate this are also: In the sutra called "Lung Gyaspa" (Extensive Prophecy), the Bhagavan said, "I have well explained the Dharma texts of Sanskrit; the elucidator Pāṇini will appear after that. The lord of the earth, who sees the nature of reality, the virtuous Upāsaka Chandra, fearless and endowed with eloquence, will appear." Thus prophesied, the grammar text Pāṇini, bestowed upon the teacher Pāṇini by the noble Avalokiteśvara, and the Candrapa composed by Chandrakhola, which clarifies its meaning. Regarding this, the teacher Kaldan Drakpa said, "Nāgārjuna separated and combined all dharmas; after grammar, he is known as Chandra Gomi, skilled in meaning. He is a master of poetics, and a hero in action. In terms of mantra, Kaldan and I are beautiful here." And the king of Kashmir, Khri Thang, on the occasion of the festival, "The words of the Chandra Gomi grammar, the delightful Taka text of Dharma Kirti, the garland of the hero's poetic compositions, are the three jewels in the world." It is said that he sang thus. Among these, Pāṇini is universally proclaimed, and Candrapa benefits. For the sake of King Deshyok Zangpo, the Kritā in Kalāpa, spoken by the young six-faced Vajrapāṇi, is clearly extensive. Also, in the sacred land of India: Indra Vyākaraṇa, Pīśayi Vyākaraṇa, Śakoṭāyana Vyākaraṇa, Pāṇini Vyākaraṇa, Samantabhadra Vyākaraṇa, Sataṇḍali Vyākaraṇa, Manujena Vyākaraṇa, and Svarasvatī Vyākaraṇa, these eight are proclaimed, but they are to be investigated. Pramāṇa (Epistemology) is: Essence: The intelligence that examines the characteristics of an object with the mind, that is, the measurer that does not err in measuring its object. That is, a mind that unerringly understands the state of the object to be measured is direct perception, and a mind that ascertains the meaning of the object to be measured from a sign with three characteristics is inference, thus there are two pramāṇas. Furthermore, it refutes the false conception that superior intelligence is hidden, and it refutes the false conceptions of those who do not accept the two aspects of intelligence and self-awareness, etc. It refutes with reductio ad absurdum all the evil speech that falsely conceives the state of countless objects of knowledge that do not appear in direct manifestation, and it shows extensively and directly how to adopt with affirmative statements, and because it is able to reverse, it is established as the supreme intelligence that refutes false speech.

The term "Pramana" (Tibetan: པྲ་མཱ་ཎ་) is derived from the meaning of being skilled in measuring, which is the wisdom that realizes the truth of things as they are. There are two ways of explaining this: the Buddha's teachings and the explanations of Acharya Dignāga and Dharmakīrti. In the first explanation, there are two types: direct perception and inference. The first is: In the first turning of the wheel of Dharma, (the Buddha said,) "Monks, the consciousness of the eye knows blue, but it does not think that it is blue." Therefore, (the scripture) shows the unerring wisdom through the part "knows blue" and above. The part below that shows the absence of conceptualization, thus fully clarifying the definition of direct perception. Furthermore, the sutra says, "Monks, what is called form has two aspects, namely, relying on the eye 1 and the mind 2." This shows the sense direct perception 1 and the mental direct perception 2. In the intermediate turning of the wheel of Dharma, (the Buddha said,) "There is no mind on the mind, the nature of the mind is luminosity." This shows the self-awareness direct perception. And, (the scripture says,) "For the sake of each person knowing for themselves, the Bhagavan taught the Dharma." The sutra says, "On all dharmas, the eye of Dharma is without dust and stainless and pure." This shows the yogic direct perception, that is, "all dharmas" indicates the sixteen aspects of the four noble truths, "the eye of Dharma" indicates the wisdom of non-outflow, "without dust" indicates the path of non-interruption, and "stainless and pure" indicates the path of liberation. The second is: In the scriptures, the three modes of reasoning are explained as the basis of the object to be measured, the means of measurement, and the means of proof, which are the inference of factual power. Among them, the Sutra of Ten Dharmas says, "As fire is known from smoke, as water is known from water birds, the wise Bodhisattva knows the lineage from signs." etc., this is the result sign. The Sutra of Green Salu says, "Whatever has a slight nature of arising, all of that has a nature of ceasing." And the Commentary on Valid Cognition says, "Whatever has a slight nature of arising, all of that has a nature of cessation." etc., this is the nature cause. The Sutra Requested by Akshayamati says, "I or one like me can measure the contaminated, but the contaminated cannot measure the contaminated, because it will decline." And the Commentary on Valid Cognition says, "Valid cognition does not enter into non-existence, nor does non-existence enter into the result, depending on the specific cause, some are the result of knowing non-existence." etc.
