Although there are many statements about how, even if one performs rituals to postpone death after seeing signs, the certainty of death cannot be averted, so how does one transition to a state of faith? But according to the root text: Therefore, after signs appear on the body, the wise should begin practice. And according to oral transmission: When the time of death arrives, before illness has fully struck, the practice of transference should be accurately explained. These statements and others refer to the convenience of approaching the practice of transference. Otherwise, one cannot avoid the fault of "killing untimely gods." Therefore, according to our own tradition, if one transfers consciousness before death, whatever one does will incur the fault of killing untimely gods. Therefore, when consciousness merges into the clear light, one must transfer consciousness through the power of practice. This is what Pramimukta and others say. Auspicious! In the fifteenth chapter of "The Valid Measure of the Holy Word," composed by Trisong Detsen, the actual embodiment of Manjushri, it says: By mentioning the aspect of intelligence that masters all dharmas, just as kings in the world accomplish whatever they desire for their lineage through the power of speech, so too, how to take all dharmas as one's own side is accomplished through the power of intelligence. Therefore, intelligence, which is like the king of all dharmas, speaks of the four intelligences that follow dharma. What are they? The "Explication of the Thought Sutra" states: Intelligence also has four aspects: dependent intelligence, functional intelligence, argumentative intelligence, and the intelligence of the nature of dharma. This is what the sutra says. To briefly mention just the aspects of the four intelligences: What is called dependent intelligence refers to the intelligence of dharma and result, that is, giving names to any phenomena, and also the arising of the result of any phenomena, which also shows dependence on that cause and condition. What is called functional intelligence refers to speaking from the perspective of karma and cause, that is, the action of any phenomena, determining what is the cause and condition of that action, which shows that it is the action of that result. What is called argumentative intelligence refers to universal reasoning, that is, showing the characteristics of any valid measure (प्रमाण ,pramāṇa, प्रमाण) to be proven. What is called the intelligence of dharma nature refers to speaking from the perspective of the nature of all dharmas, that is, for all dharmas, there are conventional truth and ultimate truth.

It shows what kind of nature the phenomena have. And so on, the meaning of these seems to be explained in detail. Among them, thirdly, in the context of the intellect that proves reasoning, there are two types: completely pure and not completely pure. Completely pure has five aspects: direct perception, inference, example, fame, and scripture. In the ninth chapter, in the teachings on the number and characteristics of प्रमाण, the intellect that proves reasoning is also like that, the direct perception प्रमाण and the inference प्रमाण, as well as the reliable scripture प्रमाण, are completely pure through five characteristics. It is said that if we combine the top and bottom to think about why these प्रमाण are spoken, it is because they know that sentient beings in the three realms regard non-प्रमाण as प्रमाण, and regard what should not be regarded as प्रमाण as प्रमाण, and what has happened, is happening, and will happen, so in order to eliminate the nets of wrong views, these प्रमाण are spoken. What is called प्रमाण is like measuring length with fingers, measuring quantity with liters, and measuring weight with scales. प्रमाण are these three: direct perception, inference, and reliable scripture. The three प्रमाण are things that are obscured, not obscured, and dharmas that are even more obscured than these. Because there are these three, everything is also said to be three. Therefore, it is also called direct perception प्रमाण, inference प्रमाण, and reliable scripture प्रमाण. The characteristics of these प्रमाण are that even if it is one, it should be known that there are five, that is, the five characteristics of complete purity. These are all the things that are said. Therefore, it is completely pure through five characteristics. It is said like that. How is it completely pure? Determine whether it is correct or incorrect through direct perception and inference. Inference is to determine the meaning through direct perception experience. The doubts that exist for these two, direct perception and inference, are eliminated by examples of their own kind. These three gather and achieve, and are determined as one, so they are universally known and included in the number of प्रमाण in the world. Scripture refers to those who do not understand that there is a dharma that transcends human beings, and use it to symbolize and show. Through these five characteristics, it becomes completely pure. Or, even the worldly dharma, the world
