Since there is no difference, both are Madhyamaka Svatantrika. The difference lies in the ground stage, where the Svatantrika school asserts that conventional truth and the basis of non-deception are the same, while the opposite is the Prasangika school. Sakya Pandita said, "In name, it is not deceptive; the assertion is the system of valid cognition. The Svatantrika is in accordance with that, while the Prasangikas, in name, briefly do not assert it as true." This is the main point. In the path stage, the Svatantrika school asserts that valid cognition consists of perception and inference, and that Hearers and Solitary Realizers have not realized selflessness of phenomena. The Prasangika school asserts that Hearers and Solitary Realizers have realized it, and that valid cognition consists of perception, inference, analogy, measurement, and four definitive scriptures, etc. As it is said, "If it goes on for a long time, wisdom will also increase even more." In the fruition stage, on the ground of the noble ones, the Svatantrika school asserts that the meditative equipoise with appearance and the subsequent attainment with appearance on the ground of the Buddhas are different, while the opposite is the Prasangika school. The definition of Prasangika and Svatantrika is that they also apply valid reasoning to prove that the sprout of good qualities does not arise from itself, and construct syllogisms with five limbs, etc. At that time, since the subject, property, and reason all need to be established for both the proponent and the opponent, the subject of investigation, such as a sprout, is considered established in the face of reason that examines the reality. Buddhapalita and Chandrakirti saw that this was not reasonable, and thus proved the selflessness of the sprout through expressing contradictory Prasangikas, such as: the sprout is the subject; it follows that it arises again in ultimate truth, because it arises from a cause that is the same as itself and its nature. At that time, they also do not accept that the sprout as the object of investigation is established by valid cognition, because it is the time to examine the situation of the sprout itself. As it is said in the Clear Words, "It is the Madhyamika." etc. Sakya Pandita said, "One should never want to accept it; if one examines it, it will become two. Because it is free from elaboration, one does not want to accept it; if one knows it, it will become the Madhyamaka school." etc. Therefore, the Svatantrika school asserts that the five great signs of Madhyamaka, the three aspects, are the Svatantrika's reasoning established by valid cognition, and the proposition of the fourfold negation of arising and ceasing, such as in the Root Wisdom, "From Self," etc. The Prasangika school says that these are all the differences between the Prasangika's reasoning and proposition as they are. The Prasangika, from the four sons of Patsab Bu

Lineage: This system is upheld by Sakya Gongma and his sons. Nagarjuna believes that the meaning of dependent origination arises from relying on a cause, therefore its nature is empty. Similarly, left and right, existence and non-existence, conditioned and unconditioned phenomena, etc., are established in mutual dependence. Therefore, their own nature is not established, thus being liberated from the extreme of permanence. Because it arises dependently or is established in reliance, it is not completely non-existent in conventional terms, thus being liberated from the extreme of nihilism. This is the correct profound Middle Way. Nagarjuna and his sons have repeatedly said this in their treatises. Therefore, from the sign of dependent origination, if one realizes that something like a sprout or an aggregate of appropriation is without inherent existence, then other phenomena can also be realized as being without inherent existence all at once, because the meaning of dependent origination is complete in all phenomena. Thus it is said. The Jonangpas believe that the unconditioned realm of reality is truly established. Panchen believes that the wisdom that takes it as its object, the self-aware and self-illuminating consciousness that is free from grasping and the grasped, is also truly established, therefore it is inferior. The quote from the Four Hundred Verses: The correct view of worldly people is applied sequentially to the view of the selflessness of persons and phenomena. Combining with the three turnings of the wheel of Dharma is a mistake. Furthermore, in the Sutra of Great Affection for Monks, it says: The essence of a monk is firstly, discipline. The two hundred and fifty fundamental precepts, etc. The second distinction is, what is a monk by name, merely holding the appearance and those who only appear to be genuine. The third application of the term is, because of the exhaustion of afflictions, the desire to seek virtue, to seek food, to abide in peace, to enter the path of liberation, to seek the path of excellent liberation, and to abandon attachment. Because it is pleasing, it is called a monk. Thus it is. Furthermore, Master Vasubandhu said: Longevity, as well as health, beauty, good fortune, lineage, wealth, and wisdom, these seven are mentioned in the Sutra of Qualities. Also, being rescued from the place of slaughter, likewise giving benefit to life, refraining from harming sentient beings, (the long-lived one will be able to obtain it). Thus it is. Furthermore, in the "Explanation of the Eight Auspicious Symbols, Auspicious Feast" 16, the Great Auspicious Sutra says: By the merit of past deeds, dwelling in a harmonious place, and the aspiration of the supreme self.
