Nato! The mention of fame refers to the meaning of proclaiming the meaning of this and that sound accordingly. It is said. Note: Just as the words of the Lord of the Gods cannot be transgressed or hindered in the slightest by other gods, so too the words of the Tathagata cannot be contradicted or broken by anyone in the world, including the gods. Therefore, they are as pleasing to the ear as the voice of the Lord of the Gods. In the world, when battles are fought and the enemy is defeated and one's own side is victorious, as a sign of this, the sound of drums is first produced. Similarly, the Buddha also overcomes demons and heretics, and emits the sound of turning the wheel of Dharma, so it is like the sound of drums. When the Tathagata teaches the Dharma, even if others praise him, saying, "Well said," etc., he does not have a conceited, afflicted mind based on this, so he is not conceited. Similarly, even if others criticize him, saying, "It is not well said," etc., he is not discouraged or disheartened, so he is not degraded. Predicting that this and that will happen in the future, such as the Buddha's teachings or the happiness of the world, etc., because he understands all things of the three times, or because the predictions conform to the rules of all treatises on sound, he follows all sounds. The Tathagata never forgets, and he does not fail to speak because he has forgotten such a Dharma, or he does not fail to speak because he has forgotten to speak such a Dharma, so there are no omissions, and he speaks the words completely. For those sentient beings who have not generated roots of virtue, he causes them to arise; he causes those who have arisen to increase; he causes those who have increased and become stable to rest in the place of liberation. He is never negligent for even a moment in the benefit of those to be tamed, so he always acts for the benefit of all of them, so there is nothing incomplete. When teaching the Dharma, he never has a fearful mind towards the refutations and examinations of other opponents, such as heretics, so he is not afraid. Because he has no attachment to gain and respect, etc., for the sake of teaching the Dharma, he is not attached. No matter how long he teaches the Dharma, he is never weary in his heart, and his body does not feel the fatigue of discomfort, so he is very joyful. Because he is skilled in all five fields of knowledge, therefore

Because the Dharma is taught in connection with the previous excellent qualities, it is the 50th quality of being pervasive or extensive. For sentient beings who are stiff and numb, who have not generated roots of virtue, it newly generates them; for sentient beings who are not numb, who have generated roots of virtue, it increases or solidifies their virtue, so it is the 51st quality of being maturing. There is no thought of sometimes teaching the Dharma and sometimes not, but it is taught constantly. When teaching the Dharma, the continuity of the teaching is not interrupted, it is not taught intermittently, but the continuity of words and speech is uninterrupted, so it is the 2nd quality of being continuous. It is not taught with just a single name, word, or letter, but through various means, so it is the 53rd quality of being related or playful. Even if only one sound is emitted, gods, nagas, humans, animals, pretas, etc., can understand it according to their own sounds and languages, so it is the 54th quality of perfecting all sounds. Similarly, when teaching a single meaning such as impermanence, sentient beings understand it according to the meaning they believe in, so it is the 55th quality of satisfying all the faculties of faith, etc., of all sentient beings, thus it is the quality of being satisfying. One does not change from what one has vowed, therefore one is not blamed by others for breaking vows. Or, one promises that practicing this or that Dharma will result in this or that fruit. No matter which disciple practices according to the teachings, they will unfailingly obtain the promised fruit, therefore it is the 56th quality of being unblamed. Wherever and whenever the time comes for a sentient being to be ripened, one ripens them without delay, so it is the 57th quality of being unchanging. When teaching the Dharma, one does not speak hastily with a rushed mind, so it is the 58th quality of being unhurried or stable. What is said is heard by all the retinue as if they were in the center of the mandala, without being near or far. For example, the words of our teacher were heard by the venerable Maudgalyayana from beyond ninety-nine Ganges sands of Buddha-fields as if he were nearby, possessing this quality, therefore it is the 59th quality of being renowned throughout the retinue. By the power of the Tathagata's teaching of the Dharma, he pacifies desire, hatred, and ignorance, that is, he eliminates the three great root defilements, therefore it is the 60th quality of pacifying desire and subduing hatred.
