It is said, "All afflictions are eliminated, and this realm will not be destroyed." Therefore, there is a reason why it is better to translate "realm" as "Dhatu" (realm of reality) in this context. The Sutra of Golden Light also states: "Just as good gold, after being melted, hammered, and refined, is not stained by dust and impurities, and appears as pure gold by its very nature, the pure essence of gold does not disappear. Similarly, when muddy water is clarified, it becomes clear, and the nature of water becomes clear, but the water itself does not disappear. Likewise, the Dharmakaya, having abandoned the accumulation of afflictions and various sufferings, and completely abandoned all habitual tendencies, the pure nature of Buddhahood becomes manifest, but the entity itself does not disappear. Again, just as when the sky is obscured by smoke, clouds, dust, and fog, and these disappear, the realm of the sky becomes pure, but the sky itself does not disappear. Similarly, because the Dharmakaya has exhausted all afflictions, it is called pure, but the Dharmakaya itself does not disappear." And so on, it is widely proclaimed. In the Great Nirvana Sutra, it is also said: "Good son, the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, possess two kinds of Dharma, namely conventional truth and ultimate truth. The Dharma of conventional truth ceases, but the Dharma of ultimate truth is indestructible and does not cease." Moreover, the noble Nagarjuna also said in the Praise of Dharmadhatu: "Like a cloth purified by fire, stained by various stains, when put into the fire, the stains are burned, but the cloth itself is not destroyed. Similarly, the mind of clear light, stained by stains such as attachment, the fire of wisdom burns all stains, but it does not burn the clear light." This is what is said. In accordance with this, the Victorious Maitreya has also spoken many times. If the seed of impurity is abandoned, it will not be reborn and reversed, as it is said: "Because the seed of the view of self is abandoned, it will not be reversed again." And so on. How is the fruit of practice obtained? When all sudden stains disappear, the naturally luminous great bliss that has been present from the beginning will appear.

And thus it is attained. Furthermore, the Victorious Maitreya (Tibetan: རྒྱལ་བ་བྱམས་པ།) himself, using the example of the purity of water and so on, said: Just as when turbid water becomes clear, the clarity itself is not newly born, it is merely the removal of impurities. Likewise, the purity of one's own mind is the same. And, what is called self-luminous nature, its essence is like the sky, but it is obscured by the sudden, thick clouds of afflictions and cognitive obscurations. The stainless Buddha, possessing all qualities, is the eternal and unchanging Vajra Buddha. This is attained by relying on the inconceivable, discriminating wisdom, and so on. The Holy Nagarjuna (Tibetan: ཀླུ་སྒྲུབ་) also said that by abandoning all thoughts of afflictions and ignorance, one can obtain inconceivable wisdom: Just as milk and water are mixed, residing in one vessel, a swan drinks the milk, but does not drink the water. Similarly, although one's own afflictions and wisdom reside together in this body, a yogi takes the wisdom and abandons ignorance. And, it is said that Buddhahood is attained by exhausting all impurities: In the world, a tree without pith is used as an example, yet its fruit has a core, which can be eaten. Similarly, from the cycle of existence without pith, if one is freed from the prison of afflictions, its fruit is Buddhahood, which becomes the nectar of all sentient beings. And, the Bhagavan, the Protector of the World, Avalokiteshvara (Tibetan: སྤྱན་རས་གཟིགས་) himself said: Samsara has no essence, it will eventually be exhausted, and from it arises the fruit of Buddhahood of a great being, just as the fruit of a water tree ripens, and when the water tree decays, the four elements truly manifest. Therefore, it is impossible to attain Buddhahood without exhausting samsara, and it is impossible to attain self-arisen wisdom without exhausting it. In the tantra of the Supreme Primordial Buddha, it is said: Just as the moon rises gradually, it is perfected by its parts, the disappearance of shadows is perfection, the moon does not decrease or increase. Similarly, wisdom rises gradually, it is perfected by the grounds, the disappearance of afflictions and so on is perfection, wisdom does not decrease or increase. Thus it is said. This means that the moon is obscured by impurities and not obscured
