Those that are established as being perfectly accomplished, acknowledge the nature of pure other-emptiness. Here, it is acknowledged that wisdom and so forth are the result of cultivation, and it is acknowledged that the result of cultivation is also perfectly accomplished, for that reason. Furthermore, it is contradictory to consider pure other-emptiness as the purifier, and that the result of cultivation, wisdom and so forth, are pure other-emptiness, because the purifier is the dharma of the path of learning, and the ultimate result of cultivation, wisdom and so forth, cannot be the path of learning. Similarly, if all uncontaminated virtues are purifiers, then the unlearning path of self-arisen wisdom, which is the result of cultivation, will also become a purifier, and thus it will be too extreme to become the path of learning. Furthermore, what you assert is written in words, saying, "I have made the object of cultivation, the object to be cultivated, the cultivator, and the result of cultivation not different in essence, except that I do not acknowledge that the opposite is not different." and, "The object of cultivation, the object to be cultivated, the cultivator, and the result of cultivation, I have previously acknowledged that they are not different in nature, do you still have doubts about these?" There is the statement that the words of the venerable Könzangpa do not acknowledge that the object of cultivation, the object to be cultivated, the cultivator, and the result of cultivation are different in essence or different in nature, but the words write of essence or nature being different. To this, you yourself have written words but said they are useless, and said, "Official, you also think that these four, the object of cultivation and so forth, are completely without otherness, because we do not agree on this meaning, so please use that view as a basis to debate fairly." He is saying this. Because he is a practitioner, I thought he would not lie, so we also used that view as a basis to debate fairly. If it is not so, please both of you meet in person and discuss it. In any case, the treatises speak of three or four categories of otherness, and this object of cultivation and the defilement to be cultivated are neither otherness of essence, nor otherness of opposites with the same essence, nor otherness of mere names, but they are otherness, therefore, it is otherness that prevents the same essence, it is otherness that cannot be said to be this and that. The object to be cultivated, defilement, and the cultivator are both conventional truths.

In conventional truth, their entities are also different. The object to be purified and the result of purification are both ultimate truth, and their essence is also the same. Furthermore, in your written words, it states that if the object to be purified or the nature of phenomena, etc., is such, then because it is the basis of both samsara and liberation, liberation also becomes something to be purified. If that is the case, the Tathagatagarbha is the basis of both samsara and liberation, and also the object to be purified. Therefore, it is too extreme for you to say that liberation is something to be purified. Moreover, all your imputations are the object to be purified, the impure other-powered is the object to be purified, the pure other-powered is the purifier, and the purified result is the perfectly established. To prove that these do not have different natures, you cite the Sandhinirmocana Sutra, which speaks of the three natures of non-existence. However, those scriptures in the Sandhinirmocana Sutra that explain the three natures of non-existence do not show that all imputations are the object to be purified, nor do they show that the object to be purified, etc., have no different natures. Therefore, it is merely a self-made explanation. Those scriptures identify the three natures of non-existence separately. If one knows imputation as it is, one knows the phenomena that are without characteristics. If one knows the other-powered as it is, one knows all afflicted phenomena. If one knows the perfectly established as it is, one knows the pure phenomena as they are. The purpose of knowing in this way is that if one knows that the other-powered does not have the characteristics of imputation, one abandons all afflicted phenomena. And if one abandons all afflicted phenomena, one obtains pure phenomena. Therefore, in essence, imputation is to be known, the afflicted aspects of the other-powered are to be abandoned, and the perfectly established is to be attained and realized. If imputation, the other-powered, and the perfectly established are the same in being without self-nature, then the object to be purified and the purifier also have no difference in essence. If one thinks this way, one should distinguish and answer this. Is it ultimate or conventional that the impure other-powered is the object to be purified and the pure other-powered is the purifier? If one examines it according to the first possibility, it is impossible. If one examines it according to the second possibility, it is because in conventional truth, the essence of both other-powered natures is established.
