In many tantras and other tantras, there are "Vajra Appearance," "Vajra Winter," "Vajra Spring," "Vajra Summer," and so on, as well as "Body Vajra," "Speech Vajra," "Mind Vajra," "Wisdom Vajra," and so on. There are also "Vajra Perception," "Vajra Action," and so on, as well as "Vajrayana," "Vajra Mantra," "Vajra Yoga," "Vajra Source," "Vajra Holder" or "Vajrasattva," and so on. All the ultimately definitive Vajras spoken of in many ways are ultimately other-empty (gzhan stong), but they are not self-empty (rang stong) where forms and so on are not established by their own nature. They cannot be understood as such. If one thinks they can be understood as such, then it would be extremely excessive and harmful to say that evil things that harm sentient beings and sinful people are also the same. Similarly, the Secret Lord Vajrapani himself said in the commentary on the Glorious Chakrasamvara Mandala: "Vajra means Dharmakaya, emptiness, and wisdom." Therefore, this face of Vajra, which is also the Dharmakaya and the Perfection of Wisdom, and is also emptiness, is ultimately other-empty, and cannot be conventional or self-empty. Similarly, the Vajras mentioned earlier are also the same. Furthermore, in the extremely numerous profound tantras, starting from the Vajra of ultimate reality (chos nyid), there are many teachings that reveal the ultimate profundity, but I have not written them here for fear of being too extensive. Therefore, if one understands well the meaning of the ultimate reality, the Vajra, then one will also understand well the ultimate other-emptiness. If one does not understand it, then one will not understand it. Not only we, but if others think that emptiness other than emptiness of self-nature is meaningless, then they are showing that they do not know the ultimate Vajra. Furthermore, if one thinks that emptiness other than emptiness of self-nature is meaningless, then it would be extremely excessive to say that Mahamudra other than self-emptiness, emptiness endowed with all supreme aspects, and the Mother of the Buddhas, Prajnaparamita, do not exist, because self-emptiness cannot understand them. If it can be understood, then poison and excrement, etc., which do not transcend the nature of minute particles, will also become Mahamudra.
