What is the basis that is primordially completely pure from adventitious stains? It is said to be the Suchness that is the indivisibility of the realm of the Sugata-garbha and wisdom in the ultimate sense. The completely pure aggregates, elements, etc., the wisdom deities and mandalas, etc., are also of the same meaning as the chapter on purity. Although these are emptiness, the proof that they are not self-empty has been stated before and will be shown later as well. Furthermore, you have written: "Emptiness of its own nature, like space or an image in a mirror, is not understanding emptiness." This is also unreasonable, because if one does not understand the emptiness of self-nature, then it would be extremely absurd to not understand the emptiness of conventional emptiness, because it is empty of its own nature. Similarly, if the image in the mirror is self-empty, then because it is conventional emptiness, it will become understanding emptiness, and if it is not self-empty, then it is not ultimate emptiness either, so it will be extremely absurd to not realize either of the two truths. If you say that the image of a face appearing in the mirror is used as an example of emptiness of its own nature for the emptiness of its own nature, then doing so is a great power, but there is no scriptural or logical proof for it, because the image of the face being empty of the face itself should be exemplified by other-emptiness, because it is not appropriate to be exemplified by self-emptiness. Therefore, this has faults in both the definition and the example, and "because it is empty of its own nature." Considering this as a scriptural proof is also self-contradictory. This way of distinguishing between self-emptiness and other-emptiness, thereby well establishing emptiness, was also spoken by the great Madhyamika Arya Asanga, as it is said: In the ultimate Madhyamika treatise, the Compendium of Abhidharma, what is the characteristic of emptiness? "Wherever something is absent, it is correctly seen that it is empty of that, and whatever remains here is what is present here." Thus, one fully knows as it is. This is entering emptiness as it is, called non-perverted. What is absent where? Aggregates and elements.

The earth and the sense-spheres, etc., have the characteristics of being permanent, stable, firm, and unchanging, and there is no self or what belongs to self. Therefore, they are empty of that. What remains in that case? It is the very absence of self. Thus, there is no self, but the absence of self exists, and emptiness should be understood. With this in mind, the Blessed One said: "Existence is also existence, non-existence is also non-existence, and one knows it thoroughly as it is." It is said. That is, whatever empty dharma does not exist in the basis of emptiness, it is truly seen as empty of that dharma. Here, whatever remains as the basis of emptiness that is empty of that dharma, which is the nature of reality, the perfectly established, is always present here. Thus, one knows thoroughly as it is. Thus, understanding the emptiness of phenomena as self-empty and the basis of emptiness as other-empty is called entering into emptiness as it truly is, without inversion. Other than that, if one thinks that everything is self-empty, or if one thinks that everything is other-empty, then it is not without inversion. This is the meaning. If someone thinks, isn't the basis of emptiness through self and what belongs to self explained here as the aggregates, elements, and sense-spheres? Why is the basis of emptiness considered to be the nature of reality, the perfectly established, here? For that reason, it should be said that here, for the time being, the aggregates, elements, and sense-spheres that belong to other-power are said to be the basis of emptiness through the imputed self and what belongs to self, but ultimately, the basis of emptiness, because the other-powered is also the basis of emptiness, is the nature of reality, the perfectly established, so the meaning is the same. Moreover, because some of the aggregates, elements, and sense-spheres that belong to the unconditioned are said to be suchness, from saying that it is the basis of emptiness through self and what belongs to self, it is also established that the basis of emptiness is the nature of reality, the perfectly established, so there is no fault. What remains in that case? It is the very absence of self. Thus, there is no self, but the absence of self exists, and emptiness should be understood. This also means that the remainder of the absence of imputation, the other-powered absence of self, exists for the time being. With that other-powered emptiness remaining, the nature of reality, the perfectly established absence of self, truly exists, completely according to its number.
