There are two analogies for the increase of Dharma. The first, briefly stated as effortless: For example, just as in the summer season, great masses of clouds gather, causing the crops of the farmers to be abundant, and the rain, which is the cause of growth, falls effortlessly on the earth. Similarly, from the clouds of immeasurable great compassion, the great rain of the nectar of the Dharma of all-knowing Buddhas falls on the fields of beings, and the virtuous crops increase without end. This also happens spontaneously without effort, as the intention arises. That is the first analogy. The explanation of how it arises from conditions is: For example, just as worldly beings enter the path of virtuous actions and act with mindfulness, and through the power of the gods, a gentle breeze blows, and rain gradually falls from the resulting clouds. Similarly, as the virtuous deeds of beings to be tamed, such as faith and diligence, increase, the wind of great compassion of the Buddhas blows, and a great rain of the sacred Dharma falls. Therefore, the reason for the analogy of the cloud is that, in order to benefit the beings to be tamed who dwell in samsara, it relies on having true wisdom and great compassion. Because wisdom realizes all selflessness, it is not defiled by the faults of changing samsara; because compassion embraces all sentient beings, it is not defiled by the faults of unchanging nirvana. It abides in the center of the sky, possessing uncontaminated samadhi and limitless dharani gates, becoming the cloud of the complete and perfect Buddha, the Sage, possessing stainless essence, which is the cause of the endless increase of virtuous crops. That is the second analogy. There are two ways of transformation from the vessel. For example: Just as rain falls from the sky, and the touch is cool, the taste is delicious and sweet, it is gentle and harmless to the body, easy to break and light, and very clear.

It is without stain and taste, and even if drunk in large quantities, it does not harm the stomach or the throat. The water with a single taste, possessing eight qualities, gradually emerges and falls from the cloud masses. Due to the different underlying grounds, such as those with or without salt, it transforms into various tastes and potencies, such as salty and sweet. Similarly, when the Buddha teaches the Dharma, the supreme Dharma, the noble path with eight qualities, the profound suchness of the single taste of water, gradually emerges and falls from the essence of the vast and extensive great compassion clouds. Due to the differences in the faculties, thoughts, and bases of the beings to be tamed, it is divided into various tastes such as the three vehicles. This is how it is. Regarding the absence of partiality, there are three aspects. Among them, three metaphors are used to briefly explain: All the Dharmas of the Buddhas, in the form of suchness with a single taste, rain down the Dharma of the supreme vehicle. For the extremely pure and faithful beings, the uncertain beings who are in between belief and disbelief, and the heretical beings who are hateful and unbelieving, these three are, in order, like not being delighted when it rains, the fields being delighted, the sparrows being in an intermediate state, and the hungry ghosts being hateful and not delighted. This is the meaning. A detailed explanation of its meaning: In late spring and early summer, because there are no clouds and it does not rain, people are sad and unhappy, but when it rains, they are happy. The birds that do not migrate in the sky never rely on water, so they are in an intermediate state of whether they like rain or not. When the summer season arrives, heavy rain falls on the ground, appearing as hail, and the hungry ghosts are very miserable and unhappy. Similarly, whether or not the clouds of great compassion of the Buddhas rain down the deep and vast rain of the supreme Dharma in the world,
