To understand this, the meaning of activity has two aspects: first, to explain the manner of spontaneous accomplishment and unceasingness; and second, to ascertain this through examples. The manner of spontaneous accomplishment and unceasingness has two aspects: a brief explanation and a detailed explanation. The brief explanation is as follows: When the Buddhas perform the benefit of sentient beings, although they directly know the infinite realms, intentions, habitual tendencies, and various dispositions of the beings to be tamed, they do not have the effort of conceptual thought, thinking, \"I should know this and that.\" Rather, they engage in spontaneous accomplishment. Similarly, apply this to accord with the individual intentions of the beings to be tamed, as it is said: \"Whose nature is free from attachment and aversion, yet shows as if attached to those with attachment; according to the power of those to be tamed, he also shows as wrathful to the wrathful. I prostrate to that supreme abode of enlightenment.\" Likewise, they do not have the effort to show various methods of taming, such as peaceful and wrathful ones. Similarly, they do not have the effort to establish the various realms of those to be tamed in higher realms and definite goodness. Similarly, they do not have the effort to go to the infinite world realms where the beings to be tamed are located. Similarly, when the time for taming the beings to be tamed arrives, the all-pervading, complete Buddhas always do not have the effort of conceptual thought and so forth, but engage in spontaneous accomplishment for the sake of taming them. This is the brief explanation of the meaning of spontaneous accomplishment. The brief explanation of the meaning of unceasingness is as follows: Having the cause of definite arising, such as dharanis and samadhis, which are collections of supreme precious qualities, and being the great ocean completely filled with the water of stainless wisdom—the ten bhumis of bodhisattvas—and the cause of approximate showing—the accumulations of merit and wisdom, like the rays of the sun that ripen sentient beings."

Because all the vehicles of the path have been definitively established, and because they possess perfect causes, the deeds of the Buddhas are uninterrupted. Similarly, because their fruits are perfect, without beginning or end, and vast, they pervade like the sky. In order to attain great enlightenment, their deeds are also uninterrupted. Even after attaining great enlightenment, the true Buddhas possess qualities such as power, are naturally stainless, and like a treasure from the beginning, because they see that all sentient beings exist without any difference, they completely embrace them. The reason for completely embracing them is that the Tathagatagarbha, like the sky, is obscured by adventitious stains, afflictions, and cognitive obscurations, like a net of clouds that needs to be removed. The condition for removing these obscurations is that the great compassion of the Buddhas, like a strong wind, is able to completely dispel the clouds of stains, therefore the deeds of the Buddhas are uninterrupted. Thus it is said. In terms of categories, sentient beings are temporarily connected to the ten bhumis and the two accumulations, and ultimately connected to enlightenment. Therefore, they also destroy the obscurations of sentient beings with compassion, and their activities are uninterrupted. It should also be combined in this way. The detailed explanation is divided into two parts. Among them, the meaning of spontaneous accomplishment is: for the sake of which being to be tamed, and by what method to tame, and what is the activity of taming, and where does the being to be tamed go, and when to tame at the appropriate time, for these, there is no arising of intentional discrimination related to this, and because there is no wavering through effort, the activity of the Victorious, perfect Buddha, the activity of benefiting beings at the time, is always spontaneously accomplished and performed. For the sake of which of the various minds of the beings to be tamed, also according to their respective inclinations and corresponding, the three vehicles and many other methods of taming are used to tame.
