For example, abundant honey is gathered by countless bees. If someone who desires honey sees this, they drive away the outer bees by various means and freely use the honey for medicine and food, etc. Similarly, the nature of the minds of sentient beings, the uncontaminated wisdom, the Tathagatagarbha, is like a honeycomb. The sudden defilements, the afflictions, are like bees. The method of destroying these and manifesting the Dharmadhatu is known by the perfect and complete Buddha, just like someone who takes honey. This is its meaning. Just as there is essence in a husk, an example of the abiding state of the Dharmadhatu in sentient beings: For example, the essence of grains such as rice, which have an outer husk, as long as it is not separated from the husk, people cannot transform it into a good thing to be enjoyed. Once separated from the husk, it becomes the best of things, such as food. Therefore, those who seek to enjoy food and drink, etc., are like extracting the essence of the grain from the outer husk. This is its meaning. Its meaning is: Similarly, the afflictive defilements of sentient beings are mixed with the Tathagatagarbha, the naturally pure essence of the Tathagatagarbha. As long as it is not liberated from the obscuration of afflictive defilements, the actions of the Tathagata, the infinite activities for the benefit of beings, will not manifest in the three realms of desire, form, and formlessness. Once freed from obscuration, the activities of the Buddha will naturally unfold. This is its meaning. Again, it is explained: For example, rice, barley, wheat, etc., with their husks, their respective husks have not been removed, and the essence has not been well processed to be enjoyable, people cannot enjoy it.

Just as specially prepared foods and the like do not change even though they possess delicious flavors, similarly, the essence of the Tathagata, which pervades the nature of all beings and is the master of all dharmas, is not liberated from what resembles the husk of afflictions. Beings whose bodies or forms are oppressed and tormented by endless suffering, which resembles the hunger and thirst of afflictions, will not be given the joy of the supreme Dharma and the great taste of bliss. Only through abandoning afflictions can the vast Dharma be shown. So it is said. The example of the state of the Dharmadhatu in sentient beings is like a gold nugget in filth: How is it that when people are walking back and forth on a road, a certain person has a valuable object, a large gold nugget? Due to negligence and other reasons, it falls and is lost in a place full of much unclean, rotten garbage, but its nature does not change. Therefore, that good gold, which is imperishable and possesses the nature of Dharma, remains in that place as it was before. After hundreds of years, if a god with pure divine eyes sees that there is gold in that place, with a beneficial intention, he says to some people: Take this excellent gold, which is in this unclean place and has become the best of jewels, completely remove the external mud, and use the jewels to accomplish body images and ornaments, etc., and make them as you wish! So it is said. Its meaning is: Similarly, the King of the Buddhas, Shakyamuni, also saw that the qualities of beings who are immersed in sudden defilements, which are like unclean things, the Dharmadhatu-Tathagatagarbha, are like good gold pervading everything. In order to purify the afflictions that are like mud, for the sake of taming those who are to be tamed, he abundantly sends down and teaches the supreme Dharma, which is like rain. Again, it is said: How can it be that in unclean garbage

Just like pure gold that has fallen into decay and been lost, later seen by the gods, in order to completely purify that unclean mud, having seen it, like what was said by Mila Nanan, that most beautiful gold, similarly, the perfect Buddha also saw beings falling into many turbid afflictions like unclean mud, the essence of the perfect Buddha, the Tathagatagarbha, like a jewel pervading beings, in order to purify the sudden defilements of that space, in order to be in accordance with the faculties of the beings to be tamed, he taught the supreme Dharma. Thus it is said. Just as the earth has great treasures, for example, explaining the nature of Dharmadhatu to sentient beings: For example, some poor people who are troubled by hunger and poverty, under their own house, under the ground pressed by many things, there is a great treasure of wish-fulfilling jewels that is inexhaustible and inexhaustible. Even so, that poor man does not know that the great treasure is in his own house. The treasure will not say to that person: I am here under the ground, take it out and enjoy it as you please. Just like having jewels, but still experiencing the suffering of poverty. Thus it is said. The meaning of which is: Similarly, in the minds of sentient beings, like a treasure containing jewels, naturally pure and without defilements, therefore the ultimate qualities need to be newly established, and the faults need to be removed, without these, the lineage of Dharmata naturally abiding, the Tathagatagarbha, is also obscured by sudden defilements, therefore not recognizing its own inherent nature. Because of the lack of wealth of uncontaminated qualities, the suffering of poverty, in countless and boundless various situations, is continuously experienced by many beings. Thus it is said. Again, it is said: For example, under the ground of a poor man's house, there is an inexhaustible treasure of jewels, but that poor man
