名称的意义是:在印度语中为Maha-yana-uttara-tantra-shastra(藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,汉语字面意思:摩诃衍那-邬多罗-怛特罗-夏斯特拉,大乘-无上-续-论)。

Chapter One: The Section on the Tathagatagarbha. Chapter One: The Section on the Tathagatagarbha. This is called "Rays of the Sun of Good Explanation." I prostrate to the glorious and venerable Lama and all the glorious Accomplished Ones. I pay homage, make offerings, praise, and take refuge in all those who, without denigrating what exists or fabricating what does not, realize and teach things as they are. Having respectfully bowed to the ultimate nature of all profound natures, the Sugatagarbha, the ultimate basis and result, and the Vajra Yoga, the ultimate path, I wish to explain its meaning. I prostrate to the twelve unchanging, perfectly established bases that are empty of all conventional phenomena. I prostrate to the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas who attain, realize, and teach it. In particular, having prostrated to the protectors Mipham and the brothers Asanga, who clearly elucidate its meaning, and to Nagarjuna and his sons, and all the teachers who teach the profound meaning of nature, I will briefly write a commentary that clearly explains the Sugatagarbha. Here, in order to explain the treatise of the Great Vehicle Uttaratantra, in accordance with the commentary of the glorious Arya Asanga, there are four meanings: the meaning of the title that corresponds to the meaning, the general homage for accomplishing the great meaning, the actual treatise that possesses the supreme meaning, and the manner of translating that meaning well. The meaning of the title is: In the language of India: Maha-yana-uttara-tantra-shastra In the Tibetan language: The Treatise on the Great Vehicle Uttaratantra. The general homage for accomplishing the great meaning is: I prostrate to the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. Now, I will explain the actual treatise that possesses the supreme meaning with three meanings: the arrangement of the body, the detailed explanation of the limbs, and the complete activity. There are three aspects to the arrangement of the body: the meaning of the summary, the connection with the scriptures, and the way of determining the order. The first is: extracting the meaning of the summary from the vast meaning, giving it to the students so that they can easily understand it, and avoiding addition and subtraction in the detailed explanation of the limbs, or so that the speaker can easily explain the treatise without confusion.

This treatise is to clearly show in what way it is summarized by how many meanings. That is, what is to be attained is the meaning of the perfect Buddha who has perfected the two benefits of self and others; and the meaning of the holy Dharma, which has the nature of the two truths free from attachment; and the meaning of the Sangha, the noble assembly that does not turn back because it possesses the two wisdoms; and the meaning of the naturally pure realm or essence of sentient beings to be truly realized in order to attain them; and the essence of realization, the meaning of the unsurpassed Bodhi, which is that realm itself purified of all defilements; and the meaning of the qualities connected with the great Bodhi, a branch of realization, and included in detachment and the ripening fruit; and the means by which others realize, the power of qualities, the meaning of the Buddha's activity being spontaneously accomplished and constantly unceasing, and the meaning shown together with the last or future. In short, all the limbs or things of all the treatises to be explained, if shown in a concise way, are like a vajra, these seven places or words. Thus it is said. These meanings are inexpressible and are to be known by each individual, so it is difficult to measure with the wisdom arising from hearing and thinking, so it is like a material object, a vajra jewel. It is also said in the tantras: It is called indivisible vajra. Thus it is said. The expressing letters also clearly show the path of those, and can be understood, so it is called a place. Because it is the basis or support for the gradual realization of the objects to be expressed. In conjunction with the scriptures, these seven vajra places are also connected with their own nature or essence in a constant and continuous manner. Just as the order shown here, in the sutra taught by the Tathagata's Great Compassion, which was requested by the Bodhisattva Holder of the World's Power, from the beginning, it should be known that the first vajra place is the display of the Three Jewels. Among them it is said: Bhagavan, perfectly enlightened in the equality of all dharmas, well
