is the near necessity. Through, entering the realm of the Buddha is the necessity of necessities. Thus it is said. The examples and meanings are summarized and shown as follows: In order to represent the meaning of doing things without effort, just as the image of Indra (Tibetan: བརྒྱ༷་བྱི༷ན་, Sanskrit Devanagari: इन्द्र, Sanskrit Romanization: Indra, Chinese literal meaning: Indra) appears on the pure ground of lapis lazuli (Tibetan: བཻ༷ཌཱུ༷རྻ, Sanskrit Devanagari: वैडूर्य, Sanskrit Romanization: vaiḍūrya, Chinese literal meaning: lapis lazuli), etc., those nine examples that were extensively mentioned above, the concise meaning of what is to be represented by the examples, must be grasped and shown. The example of Indra is to show various emanations of the body in accordance with those to be tamed. The example of the great drum is to speak the instructions of the holy Dharma with speech according to the capacity. The example of the cloud is to pervade everything with the wisdom and compassion of the mind. The example of Brahma is to emanate endless deeds with body and speech. The example of the sun is to radiate the light of the holy Dharma based on the wisdom of the mind's deeds. The example of the jewel is the secret of the mind that fulfills needs and desires without conceptualization. The example of sound and image is the secret of speech that shows good explanations without letters. The example of the sky is the secret of the body that is seen by those to be tamed even though it has no form. The example of the earth is to show that obtaining the great compassionate essence, which has become the basis of all qualities, is the very act of providing sustenance for all beings. Thus it is said. Explaining by combining three meanings: The perfectly complete Buddhas, when accomplishing the benefit of others, enter through the gate of completely pacifying all the continuous efforts with attachment, because the compassion that has extinguished and abandoned all conceptualizations, and whose nature is luminosity, is ultimately manifest. For example, in the human world, just as the image of the lord of the gods, Indra (Tibetan: བརྒྱ༷་བྱི༷ན་, Sanskrit Devanagari: इन्द्र, Sanskrit Romanization: Indra, Chinese literal meaning: Indra), appears on the ground of pure lapis lazuli (Tibetan: བཻ༷ཌཱུ༷རྻ, Sanskrit Devanagari: वैडूर्य, Sanskrit Romanization: vaiḍūrya, Chinese literal meaning: lapis lazuli) without impurities, etc., it is just like doing things without effort. Among them, the continuous efforts with attachment are completely pacified, which shows the meaning of making a vow, and conceptualizations are extinguished.

Because the ultimate intention of enlightenment is manifestly realized. This is the reason for establishing that. Thus, the meaning of spontaneously accomplishing the benefit of others without any effort is to make it comprehensible to the minds of those to be trained. The examples used to illustrate this are the reflection of Indra and the sound of the great drum, etc., which have been shown before. That's all. Regarding the manner of being without effort in the present context: In this instance of the Buddha's activity, the meaning of the present situation to be illustrated by these examples is: Because the nine meanings, such as showing miracles and teaching instructions, have been previously explained, the Buddhas, the perfect and complete Buddhas who demonstrate, are free from conditioned phenomena such as birth and death, without discrimination, and without the thought of 'I should do this and that.' Even without effort and exertion, they thoroughly guide those to be trained by the manner in which their activities are accomplished. That's all. Regarding the manner of representation, there are two aspects. The first is showing the distinctions of the examples: The examples that closely represent the Buddha's activity being spontaneously accomplished and continuous are: Just as Indra, without moving from his own position, his image appears on the earth and benefits people, and just as the great drum effortlessly proclaims the four seals of the Dharma, and just as clouds covering the sky ripen crops, and just as Brahma, without moving from the form realm, shows emanations in the desire realm and benefits the gods, and just as the sun, without discrimination, radiates infinite rays and dispels darkness, and just as the supreme wish-fulfilling jewel grants all desires without any conceptualization from the king, and just as sounds from rocks and so on appear in various ways although they are not truly established, and just as space pervades everything although it has no form, and just as the earth, without conceptualization and effort, serves as the basis for everything. As long as this endless cycle of existence remains, this activity will continue without interruption and will be spontaneously accomplished without effort.
