Therefore, the path of completely abandoning (afflictions), manifesting the Dharmakaya. Thus it is said. Again, it is said: For example, perfect honey, covered by countless bees, when someone who wants to obtain honey sees it, they use various methods to drive away the outer bees, and then they use the honey for medicine and food as they wish. Similarly, the nature of the minds of sentient beings, the uncontaminated wisdom, the Tathagatagarbha is like honey, the adventitious stains of afflictions are like bees, and the skillful one who subdues these and manifests the path of the Dharmadhatu, the Victorious One, the perfectly complete Buddha, is like the person who takes honey. Thus it is said. Like the essence in the husk, the analogy of the Dharmadhatu abiding in sentient beings is: For example, grains such as rice that are covered by an outer husk, as long as the essence of the grain has not been separated from the husk, people cannot enjoy it, but once it is separated from the husk, it becomes the best of foods and so on. Therefore, those who want to enjoy food and drink and so on, will extract the essence of the grain from within the outer husk. Thus it is said. Its meaning is: Similarly, the afflictive stains of sentient beings, mixed with adventitious stains, the essence of the Victorious One, the perfectly complete Buddha, is naturally pure, but as long as it has not been separated from the obscurations of afflictive stains, the immeasurable activities of the Victorious One, the Tathagata, will not manifest in the three realms of desire, form, and formlessness, but once it is separated from the obscurations, the activities of the Buddha will naturally unfold. Thus it is said. Again, it is said: For example, rice, barley, wheat, and other grains with their husks,

Just as the chaff cannot produce, and the essence that can be enjoyed is not well accomplished, people cannot transform it into delicious things such as food that can be enjoyed. Likewise, the Tathagatagarbha, which pervades the nature of sentient beings and is the master of all dharmas, cannot be separated from afflictions like chaff. Beings whose bodies or bodies are also oppressed and tormented by endless suffering like hunger cannot bestow the joy and great taste of the supreme Dharma. Only by abandoning afflictions can the vast Dharma be taught. So it is said. Like a gold nugget in an unclean thing, the analogy of the abiding state of the Dharmadhatu in sentient beings: How, when walking on a road where people come and go, a certain person has a valuable object, a large gold nugget, and due to forgetfulness and other reasons, it falls and is lost in a place full of many unclean and rotten things, but its nature will not change. This good gold of indestructible Dharma nature remains in that place as before. After hundreds of years, if a god with pure divine eyes sees that there is gold in that place, with the intention of benefiting, he says to someone: In this unclean place, there is this good gold, which is the best of treasures. Take it, purify the external mud, and use the treasure to accomplish statues, ornaments, etc., as you wish. So it is said. Its meaning is: Likewise, the King of Buddhas, the Bhagavan, also sees that the qualities of the Dharmadhatu Tathagatagarbha possessed by sentient beings who are immersed in sudden defilements and afflictions like unclean things, like good gold, pervade everything. In order to purify the afflictions like mud, he declares the supreme Dharma to the beings to be tamed.

Like rain, it falls abundantly and reveals, that is its meaning. Explaining again: Just as good gold that has fallen and been lost in unclean, rotten mud is later seen by a god, and in order to purify that unclean mud completely, having seen it, he reveals that most beautiful gold like Maitreya. Similarly, the perfect Buddha also sees sentient beings falling into many afflictions like unclean mud, and the essence of the perfect Buddha, the Tathāgatagarbha, like a jewel, pervades sentient beings. In order to purify the adventitious defilements of that space, the afflictions, he teaches the holy Dharma to those who can be tamed, according to their capacities. That is its meaning. Like a great treasure on the earth, the analogy of the state of the Dharmadhatu for sentient beings is: Just as some poor people who are troubled by hunger and poverty have a great treasure of jewels in their own home, under a place covered by much land, which has inexhaustible enjoyment that can fulfill all wishes. Even so, that poor person does not know that the great treasure is in his own house. That treasure also does not say to that person: I am here under the ground, take me out and enjoy as you please. Like this, even though there is a treasure of jewels, they still have to endure the suffering of poverty. That is its meaning. Its meaning is: Similarly, in the minds of sentient beings, like a treasure of jewels, the naturally pure and stainless, therefore there is no need to newly create ultimate qualities, nor is there a need to remove pre-existing faults, the Dharma-nature, the naturally existing lineage, the Tathāgatagarbha itself, is also obscured by adventitious defilements, therefore they do not recognize their own inherent nature. Therefore, impoverished by the wealth of uncontaminated qualities, sentient beings continuously experience these countless and endless kinds of suffering. That is its meaning. Explaining again: Just as
