What is its meaning? In order to be continuous and compliant like the edge of samsara, it has the meaning of being constant and unfailing, the nature of protection is stable; in order to be the nature of not distinguishing between the two extremes, it has the meaning of the peace of Dharma-nature that is peaceful in both existence and non-existence; in order to be the uncreated and unconditioned merit of causes and conditions, it has the meaning of eternal and indestructible, which is the meaning of emptiness. So it is said. Regarding the meaning of the absence of distinction in merit, it is briefly shown from the perspective of name and meaning, and the nature of these is explained in detail. Among them, the brief indication is: What, the state of the Tathagata-garbha being extremely pure, that is the Dharmakaya of all Buddhas, and so, that is also the Tathagata, that is the truth of the noble ones, and the Nirvana of ultimate meaning, therefore these are only different names. For example, just as the sun's disc and rays are inseparable, because the ultimate qualities such as the ten powers are indistinguishable, therefore, apart from the perfectly complete Buddha, there is no other who has the nature of Nirvana. So it is said. The detailed explanation is divided into three parts: a detailed explanation of the different names, a detailed explanation of the nature of the meaning, and a determination of these by metaphors. Among the different names, the way of proclaiming the four names from the perspective of the four meanings, and the explanation of these in conjunction with the meaning. Among them, the way of proclaiming the four names is: In short, the Tathagata-garbha of the uncontaminated Dharma-dhatu, for proclaiming the Buddha's indistinguishable Dharma, etc., the various differences in the meaning, with the four Dharmakayas, etc., that correspond to it, it should be known that these are the different names that have just been mentioned. So it is said. Combining with the meaning is: The realm of self-nature is pure, from the meaning that is indistinguishable from the ultimate qualities such as the ten powers of the Buddha, it is the Dharmakaya.

Called "body." Tathagata, that is, the Dharma-nature that has abided since beginningless time, the meaning of truly attaining it, is called "Tathagata" because it possesses this meaning. The ultimate truth, that is, this essence is never false, always un欺, does not transform into another, this Dharma-nature becomes the object of the wisdom of the noble ones, is called "ultimate truth" because it possesses this meaning. Dharmadhatu, that is, this nature has been pure from the beginning, and all adventitious defilements have been pacified, is called "Nirvana" because it possesses this meaning. Thus it is declared. There are two ways to extensively explain the nature of its meaning: extensively explaining the meaning of non-duality, and extensively explaining the meaning of Nirvana. Among them, the meaning of non-duality is: knowing all the aspects of all knowable phenomena as they are and as many as they are, hence the name "manifestly realizing perfect Bodhi" as Buddha. Cutting off the two obscurations and their habitual tendencies without remainder, hence the name "Nirvana." Thus, based on the ultimate realization, the perfect Buddha is established, and based on the ultimate purification, the non-abiding Nirvana is established, which is only a difference in name. Because it gathers in the same meaning of the Tathagatagarbha, in the realm of the pure wisdom of the noble ones, in the uncontaminated Dharmadhatu, there is no distinction, it is indivisible, and it is the nature of non-duality. Thus it is declared. The meaning of Nirvana is: vast and all lineages are complete, hence the name "qualities of all lineages." Light is boundless and immeasurable, hence the name "countless qualities." Profound and difficult to fathom, hence the name "inconceivable qualities." The two obscurations and their habitual tendencies are all purified, hence the name "stainless qualities." In the uncontaminated Dharmadhatu, there is no distinction in nature, the Dharmakaya is manifestly realized, which is called "liberation, ultimate Nirvana." What is the nature of liberation? That is, from the perspective of truly realizing Suchness, it is also the Tathagata. Thus it is declared. Determine them by analogy.

Regarding drawing, it must be determined by the example of drawing, and it must also be determined by the example of the sun. Among these, the example of drawing is: For example, how painters draw images of deities and so on, some painters are only skilled in parts such as the head and hands, each part having its own specialty. If a painter who is skilled in one of the parts such as the head leaves, then his part of the work will inevitably be put on hold and cannot be completed. This is a general explanation. Afterwards, the king said to all the painters, "You must completely draw my image." The great king commanded the painters in this way and bestowed the canvas upon them. The painters heard the king's command, and each of them diligently engaged in the work of drawing the parts they were skilled in. During the drawing process, if a painter who was skilled in parts such as the head left, then because the person who draws the head has left, the absence of this single painter would cause the king's image to be incomplete, just as all parts such as the head cannot be completed. This is what is said in the Sutra Requested by Ratnakuta, using this example to express this meaning. What is the meaning symbolized by the many painters who can completely draw all these parts? It is unattached generosity, discipline without the stain of wrongdoing, patience that never conflicts, and diligence full of enthusiasm for virtue represented by the word "etc.," meditation focused on the object, and wisdom that thoroughly distinguishes all dharmas. Emptiness, which possesses all supreme means, manifests as the Dharmakaya, just like a perfectly drawn and completely perfect image of a king. In short, even if one painter is missing, the drawing cannot be complete; only when all painters are present can the drawing be completed. Similarly, even if one type of means is missing,
