As spoken, it appeared, and afterwards it flourished and expanded without ever disappearing. Thus, the state of the teachings has been explained. As vowed, the well-spoken chapters are mentioned in auspicious numbers, and the end is successfully completed. In the well-spoken words that clarify the essence of the teachings, the origin of the profound meaning of the early translations, in the playful ocean of wonderful stories that delight the wise, the section on common culture and the explanation of the state of the teachings, that is, the eighth chapter, which is the last. Thus, I, who have heard little, whose prison has not been relaxed, who have not trained, and who am of an unwise nature, am not fit to be the author of treatises (lower volume, p. 862). Especially with the heavy burden of years, I should be accustomed to recitation and correct placement, but as Jamgon Sakya Pandita said, 'Even if I attain the supreme Bodhi, I should abandon it, and whatever pleases the Protector, that is what I should accomplish.' Thus, I, too, strive in this way, though I am unable, out of respect for the words of the venerable lamas, and especially for the supreme serpent king Rinpoche, who has cared for me with kindness in this life and in past lives, and by repeatedly looking at the treatises. Also, I once saw a Nyingma expanded Dharma history called Yakde Chojung, said to have been written by Dulzin Khyenrab Gyatso, but I have not been able to obtain it at this time. In addition, the complete teachings of the omniscient great master, the treasury of tenets, and the meaning of mantras, the general collection of Brahma's voice, the dragon's roar, and the general meaning, the good explanation, the ocean, the wish-fulfilling treasury, the root commentary, etc., and especially the histories of the Kama. Based on Go Lotsawa's Blue Annals and Pawo's Dharma History, the Joyful Feast of Scholars, the Nyingma section, and the Nyingma lineage catalogs of Kunchen Jigme Lingpa and Kathokpa. And I have carefully examined the concise Dharma history written by Minling Khenpo Orgyen Tenzin Dorje. To supplement what is needed, I rely on the supplement to the Heart Essence Lama Lineage (lower volume, p. 863) written by Rigzin Terdak Lingpa, and the waves of the Wonderful Ocean of the Phurba Dharma History, the Phurba Commentary, the Hundred Thousand Black Letters, etc., and the Minling Khenchen (lower volume, the empowerment of Mañjuśrī).

Regarding the detailed explanations of the lineage of Lamas and the writings of the Khenpo lineage, and also some excerpts from various royal histories and religious histories. Concerning the Terma aspects, I have thoroughly examined the "Namtars of Orgyen Rinpoche" composed by Lama Sogzlogpa, as well as "Zablungpa Wangi Gyalpo" and "Shazugpa Ngawang Tashi Namgyal," and the "Terjung of a Hundred Tertons" composed by Terton Chen Nyima Drakpa. The supplementary material is drawn from the listening records of Kunkhyen Fifth Rinpoche, the "Supplication to a Hundred Tertons" composed by Terton Chen Nyidrak, and some of the individual Tertons' biographies. From Drangso Terton Shakya Zangpo onwards, I have collected from the biographies of various Tertons. The histories of some later figures are supplemented from the handwritten replies of Dakpo Terton Rinpoche. Regarding the chronological order of the Tertons' appearances, the order given in the Tang Yig is disrupted due to necessity, and to avoid confusion, I have written it as it is disrupted. Thereafter, in the supplications to a hundred Tertons of Wangpo De and the listening records of Kunkhyen Fifth, a properly arranged order is not apparent. Therefore, I have briefly written about the well-known ones below as far as possible, but I have not been able to write detailed histories of all of them. The sections on Pure Visions and (lower part, 864) the successions of monasteries are also collected from their respective documents and the biographies of the respective Lamas. Other things that need to be written based on tradition and cause are written secretly without arbitrary alteration or fabrication. The essence of about twenty Dharma histories of various royal lineages and religious systems concerning the New Tantras has been collected. Regarding cultural aspects, they are collected from what is said in the Dharma history "Scholarly Feast," as well as the root text and commentary of Taktsangba's "Compendium of Cultural Knowledge," the treatise "Dispelling Obscurations" by Jyal Gön Sarawa, and the works composed by Minling Gyalse Ra-na-bi-ja-ya. My (the author's) great scholar teachers have also adorned their oral transmissions with unprecedented excellent explanations and have written them well. In short, it is worthy of trust without unnecessary speculation and frivolous speech.
