Everything was conducted in accordance with the Dharma, and for us, the monastic assembly, he guided us with speech and actions centered on karma and its results. Apart from that, he had absolutely no speech or actions that pursued the eight worldly concerns in order to elevate himself. He also studied some cultural subjects such as astrology and poetry. In particular, he was extremely proficient in scriptures, treatises, biographies, catalogs, and histories, and although he was learned, he always acted with humility, as if he did not know. In reality, no matter what seekers asked, he would answer without hesitation, and he would give profound teachings based on many words from the sutras, vinaya, and shastras, all related to sharp wisdom and the key points of the essential instructions. Furthermore, he never acted pretentiously, nor did he seek fame or status. Regarding clothing and the like, he only avoided falling into extremes, and never acted ostentatiously. He would often rise at two in the morning and perform a great deal of practice and recitation. In the evening, he would diligently perform the practices of the generation and completion stages, as well as offering tormas and so on. (Lower volume, page 474) He would remain absorbed in profound and essential practices, staying in meditation until midnight, and after a short rest, he would immediately engage in practice. Furthermore, on the tenth days of the waxing and waning moons, and on other holidays, he would take turns performing the rituals of many mandalas, and would extensively perform tsok offerings, ganachakra, fulfillment, and confession. Although he always enjoyed solitude and longed for practice, he was unable to maintain a long period of retreat due to the responsibility of the monastery. Even in the monastery itself, he did not live in a relaxed or leisurely manner, but diligently engaged in retreat and practice. Although he always remained unswerving in the yoga of profound reality, he never disdained even the smallest mundane virtues such as prostrations and circumambulations, but practiced them diligently, and encouraged others to do so, and rejoiced in the virtuous deeds of others. Just being in his presence could reduce attachment to worldly affairs and generate renunciation. In general, whether dealing with Dharma or political matters, he was quick-witted, quick to accomplish tasks, and never procrastinated, and his mind was steadfast,

The venerable one harbored no attachment or aversion towards any monastery, large or small, regardless of its doctrinal affiliation, and with pure intention, he sought to benefit beings in numerous ways. He was deeply concerned with the flourishing of his own tradition and possessed great foresight, extending his support not only to nearby monasteries but also striving to provide the greatest possible benefit. Of all possessions, large or small (Lower Section, 475), he used only what was strictly necessary, dedicating almost everything else to accumulating merit, constructing sacred images, and other virtuous activities. He never locked away wealth in vaults or misused it; instead, he swiftly channeled whatever arose into virtuous endeavors, like a flash of lightning. When teaching the Dharma, his articulation was clear, his expression accurate, his words lucid, and his delivery rapid. Even in empowerments and other rituals, his practice was impeccable, his wisdom profound, and his explanations were always supported by scriptural references, ensuring that his words were meaningful and never strayed into irrelevant verbosity. In short, he possessed countless flawless qualities and engaged in inconceivable, wondrous activities for the benefit of beings. As Lord Maitreya stated, "Writing, offering, giving, listening, reading, receiving, teaching, reciting, contemplating, and meditating – these ten activities are the very nature of merit, and their accumulation of merit is immeasurable." He dedicated himself solely to these ten activities of Dharma practice, thereby accomplishing unparalleled deeds in propagating the teachings and benefiting sentient beings. Furthermore, the sublime incarnation of Sribhu, the great Vidyadhara Jigme Lingpa, and the great Vidyadhara Kalzang Padma Wangchuk of Dorje Drak Zhapdrung, and the accomplished master Pawo Lhase, had all prophesied about him. In particular, in the scattered pure vision prophecies of the great Vidyadhara Nyima Drakpa, it was said: "The activity of benefiting beings will arise in the northern direction; quiescence will progress towards flourishing; he will be a holder of awareness, endowed with bodhichitta, known by the name Padma or Ngawang." This corresponds with the syllables of the venerable one's name, Ngawang Padma Namgyal. In the past, the Sangha of Songwa Samten had declined, but now, this supreme emanation, through engaging in both active and passive practices such as sadhana and offerings, has caused the Dharma to flourish, thus fulfilling the prophecy that "quiescence will progress towards flourishing."
