He was born as the son of Oje and mother Guru Tsho in the Fire Male Mouse year. From childhood, he was filled with compassion for all beings, never causing even the slightest harm to even the smallest creatures. In his early years, he memorized some of the recitation texts of the Kathok tradition. Then, he took ordination from Garje Chokyong Gyatso, receiving the vows of a lay devotee and the name Tsultrim Gyatso. He heard many teachings from this master. In particular, he stayed with Drung Chosnyid Gyatso for about five years, thoroughly hearing the profound instructions on Mahamudra Sahajasambhogakaya, thereby measuring his own mind. In addition, he heard many teachings, and for practice, he continuously and diligently exerted himself with unmatched perseverance. After Drung Chosnyid Gyatso passed away, he relied on Trulzhik Chenpo Sela Tenpa Gyaltsen as his guru, hearing many sutras and terma teachings such as Dzogchen Rangjung Rangshar, thereby realizing the true nature of reality. Realization merged into the Dharmadhatu. Furthermore, he heard countless teachings from Khenpo Pema Drol and other masters, thereby cutting through the doubts of study and contemplation. Afterwards, solely as a wandering ascetic, he traveled to the U-Tsang region, setting out to visit lamas and sacred objects (lower volume, p. 403). On the way, he heard the fame of the great Vidyadhara Migyur Dorje, so he canceled his plans to go to U-Tsang and went to Ngomstong. There he met the great Vidyadhara himself, and faith arose as if perfectly complete. The Vidyadhara also considered him to be his heart-son, giving him the name Kunsang Sherab, and he was included among the inner attendants. The master considered him to be the Dharma Lord of the place Dharma, which arose from pure vision, and the treasure of his heart, so he fully bestowed the empowerments, transmissions, and instructions of all the monasteries. At that time, he traveled to Neto Karma Chakme, the terton, and received the novice vows, and heard many teachings such as the master's own writings. Afterwards, the great Vidyadhara terton traveled to the Dege region and the Chamdo region, and he followed behind, gradually traveling, and again served as an attendant as before. At that time, many different places in the Kathok region were previously under his jurisdiction.

All the places that were not included were conquered and possessed by the Sakya lord, the King of Dege, with his mighty power. When he conquered the small place called Palyul (now Baiyu County, Garze Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province), he gathered all the monks and established a monastery and sangha in a good place called Palyul Namgyal Tse, and named it Namgyal Jangchub Ling. There were more than five hundred monks. Khenchen Thrulshik Tenpa Gyatso was invited to be the abbot, but Thrulshik Rinpoche said, "I am old and not suitable to be the abbot. However, I (referring to Thrulshik Rinpoche) am from the Drukpa Kagyu lineage, please invite my disciple Tsiltrim Gyatso." He prophesied that the Dharma would spread widely. Therefore, Mugsa sent a letter of invitation, inviting this master. The great treasure revealer Rigzin Chenpo asked him about the situation and future prophecies. He replied, "As the prophecy says, the time to tame sentient beings has come, so go there. The Dharma will spread widely, and it will become clearer later." After saying this, he gave many precious treasures and said, "You are the holder of the profound Dharma oral transmission. These profound teachings of Dzogchen and these precious treasures were personally given to me by the great master Orgyen, and now I will pass them on to you. For the benefit of the Dharma and sentient beings, please expand your compassionate heart." Then, he crowned him as regent and gave blessings. After that, the master went to Palyul Namgyal Tse at the age of thirty to serve as abbot, shaved the hair of all the monks, and gave them the lay vows. After that, he went to Mugsa again to help with the memorial service and stupa construction for the treasure revealer's passing. After that, he went to Nyedo again and received the bhikshu vows from Chagmey Rinpoche, and added "Rigzin" to the beginning of his previous name, changing it to Rigzin Kunzang Sherab. He heard many profound teachings. He was empowered and crowned as Vajra Master, and on the way back, he intended to visit the treasure revealer Dudul Dorje in Spowo, but he encountered conflicts and other obstacles on the way and could not make it, so he wrote a letter, formulated regulations in accordance with the Dharma, and repeatedly went to various practice places to give guidance.

To keep those in mind, he also did reviews and so on. He also invited the Tertön Longsal Nyingpo to the seat and, after offering him honor, recognized him as the Dharma Lord. From the age of thirty-five, he vowed before the Tertön that he would never deviate from solitary retreat for the rest of his life, that he would live with only one cushion, that he would not eat any meat, and that he would not even approach the smell of any kind of alcohol. As a result, many people engaged in solitary retreats, adhered to the asceticism of one cushion, and completely abstained from meat. The monastery also established a rule that no alcohol should ever be served except for tsok offerings. In each session, he taught the Dharma and upheld the monastic rules according to each individual's needs, guiding the disciples in an appropriate manner, so many disciples emerged with experience in practice and attainment of accomplishments. Later, feeling weary of the excessive affairs in the monastery, he and three attendants, unnoticed by anyone, relied on the quiet retreat at Lhari Dosal Gang, where the number of practitioners also increased, causing both the mountain and the monastery to flourish greatly. He also served as the preceptor for the monks from novice to fully ordained, making all of them possessors of the three vows. He also built many statues and so on. In short, whatever wealth, large or small, came into his possession, he used it for building statues and for the benefit of the community, except for the necessary expenses. His writings include "Commentary on the Three Vows," "The Faults of Alcohol and Women," "How to Rely on a Lama," and so on, about three or four volumes. In addition, he established the tradition of benefiting beings through Seeing Liberation, Experiencing Liberation, Touching Liberation, etc., which has not declined even today. Because of such activities, he maintained the duration of teaching and practice for a long time. As a result, many disciples gathered from Gojo, Markham, Sa-nga, Rongshab, Trom, Chakmudo, Golok, Do-ser, Hor Tö-mé, Shar Gyalmorong, and even China's Brakgo, and the kings of those places also offered him honor and built monasteries and Dharma in their respective homelands.
