He did not agree to stay here, saying that he had to go to the Copper-Colored Glorious Mountain Lotus Light Palace. On the eleventh day of the eighth month of the Fire Ox year (1937), with wondrous signs, his physical body dissolved into the Dharmadhatu. The treatises composed by this lord also include a guide that generally introduces the views of Mahamudra, Dzogchen, and Madhyamaka, as well as a guide to the view of Madhyamaka, and many discussions on terminology. The heart-son disciple of that lord was Zurchen Choying Rangdrol, who was from the unbroken lineage of the Zur lineage of vidyadharas. His father was the great vidyadhara Kuma Raja's emanation, Zurchen Zhonnu Dondrub, and his mother was Yidzin, a woman of the lineage of dakinis. He was born in the Wood Dragon year. He was recognized as the reincarnation of Drungpa Konchok Rinchen. Gradually, without difficulty, he mastered writing, reading, and the scripts of India. He also learned the necessary practices from his father. At the age of nine, he met Jangpa Rigdzin Ngagi Wangpo, who prophesied that as a reincarnation, he would be of great benefit to the Nyingma teachings. He also mastered painting and astrology, as well as some wrathful mantras. At about the age of twelve, he approached Nangsal Rinpoche Ngawang Yeshe Drubpa and received the empowerments and transmissions of the Eight Herukas, the old and new terma of the Khandro Nyingthig, Lama Norbu Gyatso, and Karma Lingpa's Peaceful and Wrathful Deities, Self-Liberation of Intentions, and the like, as well as the ultimate practical instructions. In addition, he received various other terma teachings. His secret name at the time of the Peaceful and Wrathful empowerment was Choying Rangdrol. He diligently practiced the Five Limbs of Mahamudra and the Chöd instructions. He spent three years and three months in retreat at Zinga Takgo, mainly focusing on the primordially pure and spontaneously present essence of the Dzogchen Khandro Nyingthig, thereby destroying the falsehood of all dharmas. He attained the realization of the manifestation of the original face of self-awareness, the primordial protector, and gained the ability to travel through the Sambhogakaya realms in clear light. At the age of seventeen, he went to the presence of Dorje Chang Pawang Khapa Paljor, and served him until the lama passed away.
