When asked if they disapproved of attaining the state of Buddhahood, all the Tibetan subjects happily replied that they approved. Fifth, the manner in which the Abbot and Acharya were invited and propagated the Buddha's teachings in Tibet. Thereafter, the messenger Gasel Nang was sent to invite the Abbot, who arrived in Lhasa. The Tsenpo said to the ministers, "Go and see what that Acharya is like. If he is good, we will invite him here as well." The ministers went and asked. The Abbot said (Upper Volume, p. 229), "My doctrine is examined by reason. I do what is appropriate, and I do not do what is inappropriate." Thereupon, the king and ministers agreed to invite him, and they met in the garden of Ombu. When the Tsenpo paid homage, the A(charya) said, "Oh, have you forgotten that I made a vow in front of the Nepalese stupa to propagate the Dharma in Tibet for the teachings of Olkol Od-srung?" The Tsenpo replied, "Because the meditation period was short, I did not remember." After the Abbot blessed him, the Tsenpo perfectly recalled the previous events. Then, on the top floor of the palace of Lungtsuk, they erected a silk tent and had them seated. For four months, the Kashmiri Ananta acted as translator and explained the Dharma to the Tsenpo, starting with the ten virtues, the twelve links of dependent origination, and the eighteen elements. The Tibetan demons were angered, and a flood carried away the Pongtang Palace, and lightning struck the palace of Marpo Ri (Red Hill). Famine and great plagues occurred in all the regions. All the Tibetan people said that they could not survive because of practicing the Dharma. Thereupon, the Tsenpo offered the Abbot three measures of gold dust as a reward and said, "Acharya, please go to Nepal for a while. In the meantime, it is not permissible for the Tibetans not to worship the gods, so we will discuss and give rewards. By trickery, entice the ministers and nobles, and when it is possible to practice the Dharma, we will invite you again." The Abbot said, "During the time of my ancestors, temples were built, as well as images and scriptures, and the Dharma was translated, etc. However, because the gods and demons were not subdued, the lives of some Tsenpos were hindered, and the Dharma (Upper Volume, p. 230) suffered some interruptions, etc. In order to subdue these lands by force, the master of Oddiyana, Padmasambhava, is the greatest mantra holder in Jambudvipa."

There was a Khenpo who, because of a connection of aspiration prayers with the king himself from the time when the Chyarung Khashor Stupa was built, was invited and said that all the pure wishes of the king's mind would be accomplished. The Khenpo said that the gold he was carrying should be given to the king of Nepal, and then he took the gold and left. He entrusted the remainder to the king, and outwardly pretended to be banished, escorting Gsalnang and Langdro Snara to Nepal. Later, he returned and was appointed as Gsalnang Chokyi Chen, and went to China as an envoy with thirty attendants. Meanwhile, all the ministers were gathered, and when the agreement to build a temple was completed, the Chinese emperor gave the envoys great rewards, and they returned with many gifts, including tens of thousands of bolts of silk for the king. Then, the Khenpo acted as if the prophecy had appeared in a dream, and sent envoys to invite the master (Padmasambhava) one after another. Later, Nanam Dorje Dudjom and others were sent again with strong words and efforts, along with precious gifts. The envoys became very tired, and the master, knowing this, went to Mangyul Gungtang by means of miraculous power. When the envoys met him, they developed faith in the master. The offering of gold powder was scattered by the master, blessing that gold mines would appear there in the future. The envoys felt regret, and when they struck the stones and tiles with their staffs, everything turned to gold. The master also showed the miracle of moving the mountains on the right side of Mangyul to the left, and the mountains on the left side to the right. Then, gradually embarking on the journey, they arrived at a village called Throngkhyong in Mangyul. At that time, there were only seven households in Mangyul. The master gave instructions to three old women, and they were liberated in an instant. At that time, the Tibetan demons tried to set the sun at dusk in the middle of the day. The master, with the iron hook mudra, instantly pulled the sun back and did not let the sun set for seven days. To suppress the demons, a temple was built on the upper side of Throngze, which was then called the Dark Temple. At the foot of the temple, there was a sacred spring that no one could touch. The master subdued the Naga in the spring and diverted the water to irrigate the fields. The Great Compassionate Avalokiteśvara was enshrined in the temple. On a hilltop, to suppress those who followed the Nepalese demons, a stone stupa was built, and three phurbas (vajrakila) were hammered into the stone.
