If a monk is allowed to make a covering, let him make it according to the prescribed size. The size of the covering is as follows: the length is four times the height of the Sugata (Buddha), and the width is two heights. If he is allowed to make it larger than this, it must be cut, otherwise it is a downfall. If a bhikshu is allowed to make a large summer cloth, let him make it according to the prescribed size. The size of the large summer cloth is as follows: the length is six times the height of the Sugata, and the width is three and a half heights. If he is allowed to make it larger than this, it must be cut, otherwise it is a downfall. Furthermore, if any bhikshu makes a Dharma robe that exceeds the size of the Sugata's Dharma robe, it is a downfall. The size of the Sugata's Dharma robe is as follows: the length is ten times the height of the Sugata, and the width is six heights. This is the size of the Sugata's Dharma robe. Venerable ones, I have finished reciting the ninety downfall Dharmas. Now, I ask you, venerable ones, are you pure in this? I will ask you two or three times, are you pure in this? If you are pure in this, venerable ones, then hold it as such by remaining silent. The four Dharmas to be confessed: Summary: Villages and other homes, oneself and the precepts, and monasteries, are all said to be for the benefit by the Buddha, and should be confessed. Venerable ones, these four Dharmas to be confessed are recited every half month during the recitation of the Pratimoksha Sutra. If any bhikshu receives food or drink from a non-relative bhikshuni on the road for alms and consumes it himself, then that bhikshu should go to the public place of the monastery and say to the bhikshus: 'Venerable ones, I have committed a blameworthy offense that should be confessed, I should confess this offense.' This is a Dharma to be confessed. If many bhikshus are invited to a meal at someone's home, and a bhikshuni says: 'Give this one food, give this one rice, give this one beans, give this one drink, give some more.' and keeps instructing, the bhikshus should say to that bhikshuni: 'Sister, please wait until the bhikshus have finished eating.' --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If not a single bhikshu dares to say such a thing to that bhikshuni, then all those bhikshus should go outside the monastery and confess to the bhikshus: 'Venerable ones, we have committed an offense that is not worthy of reproach, we should each confess this offense.' This offense should also be confessed individually. If any bhikshu goes to the home of any student that is bound by the discipline of the Sangha, and without being invited beforehand, takes food and eats it with his own hand, then that bhikshu should go outside the monastery and confess to the bhikshus: 'Venerable ones, I have committed an offense that is not worthy of reproach, we should each confess this offense.' This offense should also be confessed individually. If any bhikshu goes to any monastery dwelling place of the Sangha that is known to be suspicious, known to be fearful, known to be frightening due to various fears, and without having patrolled beforehand, takes food and eats it outside the monastery, then that bhikshu should go outside the monastery and confess to the bhikshus: 'Venerable ones, I have committed an offense that is not worthy of reproach, we should each confess this offense.' This offense should also be confessed individually. Venerable ones, I have recited the four precepts that are to be confessed individually. Now I will ask you, venerable ones, are you pure in this?
