If a bhikshu travels on a road with a woman who has not given birth, even between villages, it is a downfall. Summary: stealing, under twenty years old, digging, invitation, learning, fighting, not speaking, walking, disrespect, drinking, unseasonable. If a bhikshu travels on a road with a thief, even between villages, it is a downfall. If a bhikshu ordains someone who is not yet twenty years old as a bhikshu, it is a downfall. That person will not become ordained, and those bhikshus will be blamed, this is the procedure. If a bhikshu digs the earth with his own hand or has it dug, it is a downfall. A bhikshu should accept an invitation for four months. If he accepts more than that, it is a downfall. Except for separate invitations, repeated invitations, timely invitations, and permanent invitations, that is the time. If the bhikshus say to a bhikshu, 'You should learn this training,' and he says to them, 'I will not learn the words of you ignorant, foolish, unclear, and unwise person until I have questioned the bhikshu sutra-holders, vinaya-holders, and matrika-holders,' it is a downfall. A bhikshu who wants to know everything should also learn this training. He should also ask the bhikshu sutra-holders, vinaya-holders, and matrika-holders, that is the procedure. If the bhikshus are fighting, exposing each other's faults, disagreeing, and arguing, and a bhikshu thinks, 'I have heard what these bhikshus have said, and I should establish it accordingly,' and because of that, he sits silently listening, it is a downfall. If a bhikshu is present when the sangha is discussing the Dharma, and he gets up from his seat and leaves without saying anything, and does not speak to the bhikshus, unless there is such a reason, it is a downfall. Disrespect is a downfall. Drinking grain alcohol and intoxicating mixed alcohol is a downfall. If a bhikshu enters a village at an unseasonable time and does not speak to the bhikshus, unless there is such a reason, it is a downfall. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Regarding expiatory offenses: A Bhikshu should accept food at dawn, make needles, awls, bed legs, fillings, cushions, backrests, and sew large pieces of cloth as the Tathagata's Dharma robes. Furthermore, if any Bhikshu is invited to a house with food and wanders around the house in the morning and evening without instructing the householder, unless there are special circumstances, he will commit an expiatory offense. Furthermore, if any Bhikshu, before dawn or before the sunrise, without permission, crosses the gate or the vicinity of the gate of the coronation site of a king or royal family, unless there are special circumstances, he will commit an expiatory offense. Furthermore, when the Pratimoksha Sutra is recited every half month, if a Bhikshu says: 'Venerable elders, I only know today that this Dharma also belongs to the Sutra Pitaka and is included in the Sutra Pitaka.' If other Bhikshus know that this elder has attended the Uposatha two or three times in the past, let alone more times, but still do not correct him, then the offense he committed should be dealt with according to the Dharma, and he should be blamed: 'When you recite the Pratimoksha Sutra every half month, you do not listen to the Dharma respectfully, you are not respectful, you are not serious, you are not mindful, you are not focused, you do not listen attentively, and you do not listen to the Dharma with all your mind, so you have not gained benefits, but have gained offenses, and have not gained merits.' He should be made to regret it. Making him regret it is committing an expiatory offense. Furthermore, if any Bhikshu makes a needle or awl from bone, teeth, or horn and breaks it, he commits an expiatory offense. Furthermore, if a Bhikshu makes or has someone make a bed or small bed for the Sangha, unless the bed legs are inserted into holes, it should be made according to the size of eight fingers of the Tathagata. If it exceeds this size, cut it off, and he commits an expiatory offense. Furthermore, if any Bhikshu fills cotton on the bed or small bed of the Sangha, removes it, he commits an expiatory offense. If a Bhikshu has someone make a cushion, it should be made according to the prescribed size. The size of the cushion is: the length is one and a half cubits of the Tathagata, the width is one cubit, and the thickness is one span. If it exceeds this size, cut it off, and he commits an expiatory offense. Furthermore, if a Bhikshu makes a backrest...
