Like a house filled with Dharma treasures, sentient beings are like the extremely poor, In order for them to obtain these treasures, a true sage is born in the world. Just like mangoes and other fruits, Which contain seeds, sprouts, and the imperishable Dharma. Through cultivating the land, watering, etc., trees grow, Gradually achieving the wealth of a king. The ignorance and other afflictions of sentient beings are like fruit peels, Enclosing the goodness within the Dharmadhatu. Similarly, relying on these goodnesses, Gradually achieving the state of a Buddha. The causes and conditions of water, sunlight, wind, earth, seasons, and space, Cause trees to grow from within the fruit of palm and mango. Similarly, within the fruit peel of sentient beings' afflictions, the complete Buddha's Seeds and sprouts also grow through these virtuous conditions, eventually realizing the Dharma. Like an image of a Buddha made of precious jewels, Covered with tattered clothes and foul odors. A passing deity sees it and, in order to liberate it, Speaks of the reasons within it. Similarly, having unobstructed vision, seeing the various The nature of the Tathagata covered by afflictions. Even in the animal realm, one can see, And bestow methods to liberate them. Like the nature of a precious jewel, the body of the Tathagata is covered with foul-smelling clothes, A passing deity sees it and, in order to liberate it, speaks to people. Similarly, covered by the tattered clothes of afflictions, the Dharmadhatu dwelling on the path of samsara, Even in the animal realm, one can see, and in order to liberate them, the Buddha teaches the Dharma. Like an ugly, helpless woman, Living in a helpless place, Yet holding the glory of a king in her womb, Unaware that she carries a treasure in her belly. Life in samsara is like a helpless home, Impure sentient beings are like pregnant women. 2-161 Because there is something within that is relied upon, That stainless Dharmadhatu is like the fetus in her womb. Like a woman, with a dirty body, wearing filthy clothes, and an ugly appearance, Even though the future ruler is in her womb, she still suffers greatly in a helpless house. Similarly, even though there is reliance within one's own nature, one is still like a helpless person, Controlled by the afflictions of beings, the mind is not tamed, and one dwells in the source of suffering. Like seeing molten gold gradually taking shape inside, While the outside is of the nature of earth. Those who recognize this, in order to refine the gold inside, Will remove the impurities outside. Similarly, the nature of self-luminous, stainless nature, If suddenly appears, The precious... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For beings in the state of self-grasping, to purify their obscurations and attain supreme enlightenment, it is like extracting gold from a flawless gold mine. Although it may be buried underground, through the discernment and removal of the soil by the wise, its pure essence is ultimately revealed. Similarly, the Buddhas, with their pure, gold-like wisdom minds, perceive the nature of beings and eliminate their afflictive obscurations through teaching the Dharma, listening, contemplating, and practicing. Like a lotus, living beings, bees, husks, impure things, rice husks, rags, and a woman's womb, as well as caves in the earth, The Buddha is like the essence of honey, gold, treasures, and trees, a precious body and a Dharma wheel, a transformative object and a golden statue. The afflictions in the minds of sentient beings have existed since beginningless time, but the essence of the mind is pure and undefiled, which is called beginningless purity. Desire, hatred, ignorance, and the arising of anger, attachment, afflictions to be abandoned by the path of seeing, afflictions to be abandoned by the path of meditation, as well as the afflictions that are the basis of impure and pure grounds. These nine stains, such as the lotus receptacle, are explained in detail, and the distinctions of the near afflictions are countless. These nine stains, in short, are correctly explained in order using nine metaphors such as the lotus receptacle. These stains, for ordinary people, Arhats, learners, and wise people, have four, one, two, and two kinds of impurity respectively. Just as a lotus grows out of mud and is pleasing when it appears, but no longer pleasing afterward, so is the pleasure of desire. Just as creatures and bees bite very frantically, like being pierced by a spear, when hatred arises, it causes suffering in the heart. Just as the essence of rice etc. is covered by the outer husk, the wisdom of realizing the essence is covered by the shell of ignorance. Just as impure things are disgusting, similarly, for those with desire, craving for desire is the cause of arising afflictions, therefore, desire is like impure things. Just as jewels are obscured and people cannot know or obtain treasures, similarly, the self-luminous nature of beings is obscured by the habits of ignorance. Just as bamboo shoots etc. grow sequentially and need to be peeled off the outer bamboo shoot shell, similarly, by realizing the truth, one can eliminate the afflictions to be abandoned by the path of seeing. Through association with the noble path, those who have destroyed the aggregates of existence, the afflictions to be abandoned by the path of meditation, are like rags. The stains that depend on the seven grounds are like a womb. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
