All those conventional truths deviate from the truth itself; liberation cannot be achieved by deviating from it. Conventional truth becomes the means, and ultimate truth becomes the result of the means. 1-758 Those who do not know the distinction between these two enter the wrong path due to distorted conceptualization. Just as you assert that others are independent entities, I do not accept conventional truth either. For the sake of results, even though these do not exist, I say they do exist; I speak thus in the world's view. Just as entering into peace after abandoning the aggregates is not something Arhats possess, if the world does not have it either, I would not say that it exists outside the world. If you are not harmed by the world, then rely on the world to refute this. You and the world should argue here, and afterwards I will rely on strength. For Bodhisattvas who have realized or are progressing towards realization, whatever they realize of the three realms is only mind. To prevent the understanding of a permanent self as the agent, they realize that only mind is the agent. Therefore, wise individuals should study the Lankavatara Sutra to increase their wisdom, for the All-Knowing One spoke this vajra-like nature of speech to cut through the mountain of pride of the extremists. Just as in his own treatises, the Buddha did not regard the individuals and so on spoken of by the extremists as agents, but said that mind is the agent of the world. Just as the Buddha explained in detail, 1-759 Similarly, in the world where mind is primary, the sutra speaks of only mind, and here form is negated; this is not the meaning of the sutra. If you understand these as only mind and therefore negate form, then why did the Great Self again say that mind arises from ignorance? Mind itself arranges sentient beings and the world, making them extremely diverse. All beings are said to arise from karma; without mind, there is no karma. If form exists, but it is not the agent like mind, then what is negated is the agent other than mind, not form. Abiding in the reality of the world, the aggregates are called the world, and all five exist there. If one wishes for wisdom to arise, then these five will not change for the yogi. If there is no form, do not hold that mind exists; even if mind exists, do not hold that there is no form. The Buddha briefly taught these methods of wisdom as being similar.

It is taught in the Dharma of abandonment and direct perception that even if these two truths are refuted in sequence, you will not be able to establish your 'real entity'. Therefore, in such an order, things are originally unborn and unceasing, and the wise should understand this. In which sutra is it said that external objects do not exist? In which sutra is it said that the mind manifests various things? For those who are attached to form, refuting form is also a provisional statement. The Buddha said that this is provisional, and it is reasonable in terms of reason. Other sutras with similar views should also be understood as provisional in this way. The Buddhas said that if the knowable does not exist, then the knower can be easily removed. If the knowable does not exist, then the knower will also be blocked, so the knowable must be refuted first. After understanding the meaning of the scriptures in this way, those sutras that are not of ultimate meaning should be understood as provisional, and those sutras that have the meaning of emptiness should be understood as definitive. Because arising from two is not the essence of reason, the faults mentioned earlier will fall upon them. This is neither conventional truth nor ultimate truth, because things cannot arise from a single factor. If one thinks that things arise without a cause, then all things will always arise from all things. In order to produce results, people will not bother to collect seeds and so on in the world. If beings have no cause, then just as the fragrance of a lotus cannot be captured in the sky, you should understand that the world is produced by causes and conditions, which is very obvious. What kind of nature makes the object in your mind possible? If someone's mind is full of darkness, how can he correctly understand the next life? When he denies the next life, he is actually looking at the nature of knowledge in a reversed way. Because his view is similar to the nature of the body. When he admits that phenomena exist, the situation is the same. As said before, how phenomena do not exist, because it has already been jointly refuted that arising from oneself, arising from others, arising from both, and arising without cause. Therefore, the phenomena that are not explained should not be considered as existing. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
