As many aeons as you possess beings, so many aeons you go to the supreme Bodhi, However, this secret of yours should not be told. As long as the Victorious One is completely pacified in all the worlds, as long as beings do not perish and space is not destroyed, By what means does the mother of wisdom, your loving mother, make you attain peace? Because of the fault of delusion, beings in the world eat poisonous food, how is your love for your own family? Just as a mother cannot bear to see her child suffer from eating poison, so the Protector, you will not go to complete peace. Because the unwise are attached to existence and non-existence, the stages of birth, death, and abiding, and the suffering born from pleasure and displeasure, separation and union, And because of obtaining sinful states, the world is completely an object of compassion. The compassion of the Bhagavan (Blessed One) turns you back from peace, so you do not have Nirvana. This reasoning is extracted by the Bhikshu Chandrakirti from the Madhyamaka Shastra (Treatise on the Middle Way), and the scriptures and oral instructions are spoken as they are. Apart from these, this Dharma does not exist, and the wise should be certain that the way it appears here does not exist elsewhere. The ocean of wisdom of Nagarjuna, whose vastness is frightening, beings have abandoned his words by abandoning the good path. Now, Chandrakirti, in the form of chapters, uses the water of blooming lotuses to fulfill these words. This profound and terrifying Dharma that has been spoken can only be understood through the habituation of previous lives, and even if it is widely heard, others will not be able to comprehend it. Therefore, seeing these reasons fabricated according to one's own mind, one should abandon the love for other doctrines and only adhere to the views of one's own school. By virtue of proclaiming the good path of the teacher Nagarjuna, may the merit I have obtained spread everywhere, May it be as white as the stars in autumn, dispelling the afflictions of the mind, or like the wish-fulfilling jewel on the snake of the mind. May all beings in the world, through it, realize the truth and quickly reach the state of the Sugata (Buddha)! The Madhyamakavatara (Entering the Middle Way) clarifies the profound and vast reasons, written by the teacher Chandrakirti, who is devoted to the Mahayana, possessing unobstructed wisdom and compassion, like milking milk from a painted cow. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The commentary composed to dispel attachment to the reality of the earth is complete. In the center of the unparalleled city of Kashmir, in the temple where jewels are hidden, during the reign of the Kashmiri King Palpawa Lha (Glorious Holy God), it was translated by the Indian Khenpo (abbot) Tilaka and the Tibetan translator Bande Patsab Nyima Drak, according to the Kashmiri exemplar. Later, at Rasa Ramoche Temple, it was carefully revised and finalized by the Indian Khenpo Karnakavarma and the same translator, comparing it with the exemplar from the Niokshapa region. Here, the common elements from the colophon of the commentary and the colophon of the translation are listed, because the root text was translated separately and then collated with the root text within the commentary for editing purposes. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
