Through the blessings of the Guru, And the truth of the great Three Jewels, And the power of the great Dharma protectors, May these great aspirations be quickly fulfilled! This is a prayer to generate the stages of the path, including the Path with its Fruit, in the mindstream, composed by the monk Gyal Khampa Senge, a servant of the venerable lamas. Reverently I bow to the Guru of Bliss, Endowed with compassion for all sentient beings. May I never be separated in all my lives From Vajra, Bell, Lotus, and the union of Secret Space. May I never be separated from the experience of profound bliss, Drawing in the Bindu of the consort with the lotus. May I never be separated in all my lives. These two verses of aspiration, as spoken in the eighth chapter of the Root Tantra, applied to the four empowerments, are according to the words of the great Sakyapa, Lord of Yoga. The perfect Buddha, teacher of this world, Shakya King, amidst an ocean of assembly, From the praises of Buddha-fields, I reverently bow to the supreme Sukhavati. In the center of that field, beneath a jeweled tree, The guide of gods and humans, the protector Amitabha, Resplendent like a mountain of ruby, Adorned with billions of rays, I reverently bow. With the voice of Brahma, to the assembled hosts, Intoxicated by the samadhi of the supreme vehicle, The Arhats also abandon their inferior minds, And strive for supreme enlightenment; to them I bow. In each moment, manifesting various emanations, To the helpless beings in various fields, Bestowing all benefit and happiness through various deeds, To the inconceivable activity, I reverently bow. Avalokiteshvara, Mahasthamaprapta, and others, The victorious ones with their sons filling the sky, The Shravakas and Sangha, like dust motes in the ocean, To the assembly equal in number, I bow. The compassionate Sakya, Lord of Yoga, The assembly of lineage gurus like an ocean, Through the power of pure aspirations and manifold virtues, May I be miraculously born in that field; to them I bow. The accumulation of virtue of myself and others in the three times, The blessings of the compassion of the root and lineage gurus, And the power of the vast aspiration of the protector Amitabha, May I and all beings wandering in the ocean of existence, When the appearances of this life fade away, Be born in that supreme field praised by all Buddhas, Known as Sukhavati, And behold the supreme face of Amitabha. As soon as I see that face, from the ocean of his voice, May I hear the profound and vast supreme vehicle, And may my being be filled with qualities, Such as faith, wisdom, retention, and samadhi.
