Regarding the question of 'twenty-three': There are seven in the MTSHO SKY tradition, and twelve in the NAKPO tradition, totaling forty-two. Among these, DOMBHIBA's 'co-emergent' accomplishment, the generation stage practice of the MTSHO SKY tradition, and the pith instructions of the completion stage like the 'tip of a lamp,' these three are the nine special paths. So, what are the remaining thirty-nine? I think it can be understood through the counting method of the commentary itself, and the power of the words 'main dharma' and 'the nine paths are special.' The second question is, if Jetsun (RJE BTSUN) said that what is taken from the tree is the 'Abhidharmasamuccaya,' then what kind of Sautrāntika (MDZO SDE PA) is it that acknowledges the Ālayavijñāna (KUN GZHI) and the afflicted mind? Generally, Jetsun briefly explained the classification of the four schools and said to study the scriptures of each school in detail. When explaining the Sautrāntika school, he said to learn about it in detail from the 'Abhidharmasamuccaya.' To prove this, he said that the Sautrāntika school explained in the self-commentary of the 'Abhidharmakośa,' and what is explained here, are the same meaning, and that no Yogācāra is mentioned at all, and that the lecturers also say it is the doctrine of the common vehicle. Therefore, he said that most of the classifications of aggregates, elements, and sense bases explained from there, as well as the classification of external objects, the five paths and ten bhūmis, the three bodies, etc., are mostly the views of the Sautrāntika school. This refers to the fact that not everything explained from there is recognized as the view of the Sautrāntika school, because the doctrine of the common vehicle is considered the standard. Therefore, it is not necessary to acknowledge the existence of a Sautrāntika who acknowledges the Ālayavijñāna and the afflicted mind. The third question is, in the general tantras, regarding how the Buddha knows the knowable, the Sautrāntika school believes that the Buddha knows the knowable as other-appearance, while the secret mantra school believes that the Buddha knows the knowable as self-appearance. So, what is this way of knowing like? If so, how does the Buddha have self-appearance and other-appearance? To this, the 'Sambūṭa Tantra' (SAM BU TA'I RGYUD) says: 'Those who have not manifested the inconceivable place are the Tathāgatas, that is, the Buddhas.' The commentary says: 'The inconceivable place is the self-appearing wisdom of all knowables, appearance itself is wisdom, and wisdom itself is appearance. It is also emptiness, and emptiness is also it, they operate together at the same time.' Now, the respective... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ordinary beings, relying on terms, merely develop faith in the object of conception, and it is difficult to develop faith in such wisdom. Therefore, the eleventh and twelfth bhūmis have not attained that wisdom. That is the Tathāgata, who has gone from the path of bliss. Therefore, in the Pāramitās, it is said to be Buddhahood. If it has not been attained, how can it be said to be attained from the Prajñāpāramitā? It is not said so, but in some Pāramitās, it is said that at the time of attaining Buddhahood, the activity of mind and mental factors ceases. Some think that if the mind exists, it will become conceptual. Others think that the Buddhas have minds, because being without mind is Nirvāṇa, and the Buddhas do not have Nirvāṇa. Still others say that it is the wisdom of transformation. Others say that they do not think of it as transformation. Still others say that there is Samāhita (梵文:Samāhita,等持) and post-Samāhita. Still others say that there is no Samāhita and post-Samāhita. All of these are not contradictory, because there is no explanation in one scripture. Therefore, it is said that the one who has attained the state of inconceivable is the Vajradhara, and it is said that there are 'symbolic' things, etc. These are the words of the commentary, and it is necessary to examine them carefully. In short, the appearance of knowable objects, the wisdom of the Buddhas, and the emptiness of reality are manifested as inseparable, which is the self-appearing wisdom, and only the thirteenth bhūmi has it. If it is not manifested, it is the way of knowing of others. To this, Jetsun Tsemö said that the small Buddha is the Śrāvaka, the middle Buddha is the Pratyekabuddha, and the great Buddha is the eleventh or twelfth bhūmi of the Pāramitā. Sakya Paṇḍita added the detail of 'being called Buddha' in the commentary on the Praise of Selflessness, but otherwise, their views seem to be the same, and the detailed meaning of these needs to be understood in the three tantras, but here it is only a brief summary. Therefore, it is not that one Buddha has both self-appearance and other-appearance, because self-appearance is only the thirteenth bhūmi, and other-appearance is the twelfth bhūmi and below. The fourth question is, in the case of the Kāya-maṇḍala, if the deities of the five palaces are established in the body of the yogi from the beginning, what is the difference between it and the tenets of the Jonangpas? If the deities are newly generated through Mantra and Bīja, what is the self-existent Maṇḍala? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
