Collected Teachings of the Omniscient Gorampa, GR65: The Blooming of the Lotus of Questions and Answers 10-3-1a ༄༅། །The Blooming of the Lotus of Questions and Answers. Identification of those who speak first on the aspect of supplementing the three vows. The Blooming of the Lotus of Questions and Answers 10-3-1b Namo Manjushri Ghoshaya (Tibetan: ན་མོ་མཉྫུ་གྷོཥཱ་ཡ།, Devanagari: नमो मञ्जुघोषाया, Romanized Sanskrit: Namo Mañjughoṣāya, Literal meaning: Homage to Manjushri). Infallible guide of essential points, At the lotus feet of the venerable master, A few questions and answers are spoken here, By a devoted disciple. Firstly, the answer to the question of what is the identification of those who speak first on the aspect of supplementing the three vows: Those who consider that merely negating the truth of the mind with questions by reasoning is the Sugata-garbha (Buddha Nature) of bliss are the Dar Ṭīkapa and those who speak according to the system of their followers. Dividing conditioned nature abiding lineage and unconditioned nature abiding lineage into two is the direct teaching of Rong Ṭīk, but the intention of the Dharma Lord himself is to explain each situation separately in a way that straightens out the crooked, but ultimately it is Yuganaddha (Union). Those who believe that the Sugata-garbha exists only in the Sugata and not in sentient beings 10-3-2a are the former Buton Khache, and some of the present-day logicians in Ü-Tsang and Do Kham. Those who believe that the Dharmadhatu of self-nature purity and the Dharmadhatu of adventitious freedom from defilements are contradictory are most of the present-day logicians. Those great beings obscured by the karmic imprints of Vijnanavada, dividing all knowable objects into two truths and three characteristics, making the completely imputed and the other-dependent as relative truth, and the thoroughly established as ultimate truth, and considering that the ultimate truth is established as one, etc., is a thorough exposition of the intention of Jonang Kunchenpa's ocean of definitive meaning. Incidentally, those who consider all three tantras to be Kalachakra logicians are the former Kunga Gyaltsenpa and some of the later lamas of their own system. The above is a brief summary of the origin of the prior views of the ground. Those who believe that the Pratimoksha vow is a form and only has eight numerical categories, and that it is invariably abandoned at the time of death, are most of the Vinaya holders who rely solely on the Vinaya. Dividing Pratimoksha into three disciplines of fear protection, good wishes, and renunciation, and saying that the nature of Pratimoksha is abandoning the basis of harming others, which is not explained in the Indian treatises and commentaries, is the very person who is now striving to prevent the distinction of the three vows under the guise of questioning. Considering that abandoning the basis of harming others is only the nature of the Bhikshu vow and not the overall nature of Pratimoksha. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

‘It is so’ refers to Namkha Sonam. The ordination of Bhikshunis (fully ordained nuns) by a female Sangha alone, it is said that initially, one Gelug Vinaya master did this, throwing stones of reason, and later those people said they did not do it. Namkha Sonam, acting as Khenpo (abbot), and a lama from Shangkyi Phu acting as Karma Acharya, ordained a female patron of Chuwar Rangjung as a Bhikshuni, which seems to have been criticized. Although the number of ordinands for Bhikshuni ordination cannot exceed three, it is permissible for Bhikshu ordination to have more than three ordinands, which is still the view of that same former hypocrite (referring to the previous Gelug Vinaya master). This is a brief summary of the earlier views on the Pratimoksha vows. ‘The meaning of exchanging self and others lies in the exchange of cherishing attachment, not the exchange of good and evil, and happiness and suffering,’ this is the view of Tsongkhapa. Considering ‘freedom from the four extremes of elaboration’ to be the view of Chinese monks is incorrect. ‘After denying truth with reason, clinging to the absence of truth, therefore it cannot be stopped,’ etc., is also the ultimate view of Tsongkhapa's Madhyamaka texts. In the establishment of conventional reality, saying ‘neither existent nor non-existent’ is the translator Kyabchok Pal. Considering ‘I’ and ‘Pudgala (person)’ to be different in number is a heretical argument, therefore, in conventional terms, both asserting the absence of self and the existence of Pudgala, and later, just as there is a self in conventional terms, also asserting that there is a self of Pudgala, these two views are the earlier and later sectarian views of that same former hypocrite. When guiding the Madhyamaka view, first, by counting ‘I,’ seeking the object of clinging of innate self-grasping, and when it is found, wanting to count ‘no-self’ are the Gelugpas who follow Changra Khenpo. Regarding this, there are also three stages in which the Vinaya master, his guru, and his throne-holder sequentially believe that it is necessary to count ‘I’ as non-existent as it appears, that counting ‘no-self’ itself is sufficient, and that one cannot say ‘I,’ but must only count the word ‘non-existent,’ it is said that all three are worthy of compassion. This is a brief summary of the earlier views on the Bodhisattva vows. Believing that by applying self-made rituals to all Tantras, obtaining one empowerment obtains all empowerments is Bo Dong Chokley Namgyal. Publicly proclaiming secrets to ordinary people who are not matured by empowerment is all present-day Mantrayana practitioners except for the Ngorpa, and now even some disciples of the Ngorpa. It is necessary to receive empowerment from one Vajra brother guru, in the same mandala, at the same time. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
