那么,心所的数量是多少呢?《俱舍论》中说:‘从实有的角度来说,心所有十个遍行心所(sa mangs bcu),十个善心所(dge ba'i sa mangs bcu),六个根本烦恼(nyon mongs pa'i sa mangs drug),两个不善心所(mi dge ba'i sa mangs gnyis),十个小随烦恼(nyon mongs chung ngu'i sa pa bcu),八个不定心所(ma nges pa'i sde tshan brgyad),共四十六个。’

Therefore, in the summary of the noble Mañjuśrī's own view, other words are similar to this, but it has been explained when dividing the four bodies using the word 'Nirmanakaya (sprul pa, 化身)'. So, when the word 'Nirmanakaya' is used here, it is understood as explaining the three bodies. At that time, 'four aspects' refers to the Dharma representing the Dharmakaya, including activities and functions, and is expressed as four, so it does not refer to the four bodies. Whether or not the self-view is accepted is contained in the previous answer. The eighth question is from the 'Manifest Realization Tree' (mngon rtogs ljon shing): According to the upper Abhidharma (mngon pa gong ma), the stainless recognition is divided into eight unconditioned dharmas. Then, do space, cessation through discrimination, and parts of the element of Dharma and the realm of Dharma that are not cessation through non-discrimination appear? Is this similar to the view of the Vaibhāṣika school (bye brag tu smra ba) of the lower Abhidharma (mngon pa 'og ma)? The lower only speaks of forty-six mental factors, while the upper speaks of fifty-one, which is explained in 'Clear Knowledge' (shes bya rab gsal). In the 'Essence of the Tree' (ljon shing byin po), it is said that the basis of mental factors is fifty-one mental factors. The answer is: In the upper Abhidharma, parts of the element of Dharma and the realm of Dharma that are unconditioned dharmas other than space and the two cessations do indeed appear. The three suchnesses (de bzhin nyid, tathata, 如是) of virtuous, non-virtuous, and neutral, as well as immovability and the cessation of perception and feeling ('du shes dang tshor ba 'gog pa, saṃjñā-vedayitanirodha, 想受灭), are all like this. Among the unconditioned dharmas, the first three are fixed, which is the view of the Abhidharmakośa (mdzod, Abhidharmakośa, 阿毗达磨俱舍论). The view of the Vaibhāṣika school is the same as the view of the Abhidharmakośa, because the views of the seven Abhidharma texts, such as the Dharmaskandha, are uniformly explained as the Great Commentary on the Vaibhāṣika (bye brag bshad mdzod chen mo), and the Abhidharmakośa explains it according to its view. Apart from this, the Vaibhāṣika school has no other basis to rely on. Moreover, the venerable one (rje btsun) himself also wants to understand this, so the Abhidharmakośa should be read. So, what is the number of mental factors? The Abhidharmakośa says: 'From the perspective of real existence, there are ten pervasive mental factors (sa mangs bcu), ten virtuous mental factors (dge ba'i sa mangs bcu), six root afflictions (nyon mongs pa'i sa mangs drug), two non-virtuous mental factors (mi dge ba'i sa mangs gnyis), ten minor afflictions (nyon mongs chung ngu'i sa pa bcu), and eight uncertain mental factors (ma nges pa'i sde tshan brgyad), totaling forty-six.' Although it is not said that non-ignorance (gti mug med pa), non-view (lta ba), and non-mindfulness (shes bzhin ma yin pa) are the substance of wisdom, and agitation (rnam g.yeng) and samadhi (ting nge 'dzin) are afflictions, so the substance of samadhi is... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q: Since 'forgetting' and 'mindfulness' are afflictions, do you consider them both to be included in the category of 'mindfulness'? A: Generally speaking, the fifty-one mental factors (Skt. caitasikas) are not entirely impossible. Question 9: You previously stated that it is not necessary to acknowledge the Sautrāntika school (Tib. mdo sde pa) which, according to its own system, accepts the Ālayavijñāna (Tib. kun gzhi, Skt. Ālayavijñāna, meaning 'storehouse consciousness') and the afflicted mind. How, then, does Vasubandhu (Tib. dbyig gnyen) explain in the Karmasiddhiprakarana (Tib. las grub pa'i rab tu byed pa) how consciousness remains when entering into cessation? A: It is explained as some Sautrāntikas believe. Q: How do some Sautrāntikas believe? A: They say that from the moment of connection (Tib. mtshams sbyor ba), the Vipākavijñāna (Tib. rnam par smin pa'i rnam par shes pa) is the consciousness of all seeds, which is actually explaining the Ālayavijñāna. If the Sautrāntika following the Abhidharmasamuccaya (Tib. kun las btus) accepts the Ālayavijñāna, does the above quote relate to this? A: Although the Sautrāntikas accept that the Vipākavijñāna is the consciousness of all seeds, they do not accept the Ālayavijñāna as explained in the Abhidharmasamuccaya. As the Mahāyānasaṃgraha (Tib. theg bsdu) states, just as a group of blind men touch an elephant, the Śrāvakayāna schools (Tib. nyan thos sde pa) only acknowledge partial characteristics of the Ālayavijñāna, but they do not fully understand the complete characteristics of the Ālayavijñāna like a sighted person. Moreover, the Mahāyānasaṃgraha, the Abhidharmasamuccaya, and the Triṃśikābhāṣya (Tib. sum cu pa'i rab byed) all similarly explain the complete characteristics of the Ālayavijñāna according to the Yogācāra (Tib. sems tsam) system. Therefore, after the Abhidharmasamuccaya has fully explained the characteristics of the Ālayavijñāna, it says, 'The Vipākavijñāna and the Ādanavijñāna are also it,' which indicates that the Sautrāntikas believe that these two consciousnesses still exist when entering into cessation, but you have not understood that they are actually the Ālayavijñāna. Therefore, the previous quote is not related to this. Question 10: You previously said, 'What exists conventionally (Tib. kun rdzob) is merely imputed,' stating that conventional existence is imputed, and then below you said, 'The Ālayavijñāna, etc., are merely consciousness,' does this mean that the Ālayavijñāna, etc., are merely established in conventional truth? Does this mean that the Ālayavijñāna must be acknowledged as imputed? A: The meaning of 'What exists conventionally is merely imputed' is that the way things exist conventionally is merely through conceptual imputation, and not as they exist ultimately (Tib. don dam). But this does not mean that if something exists conventionally, then that thing must necessarily be imputed. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
