Since there is nothing superior to the third (referring to other traditions). Although the Exoteric Vehicle believes it can be attained through its own path, it is not accepted in the Anuttarayoga Tantra, so there is no contradiction. The statement in the scriptures that the result of the fourth empowerment is associated with the eleventh bhūmi (stage) refers to the eleventh bhūmi as explained in the Exoteric Vehicle, so there is no contradiction. In India, there are two views on the 'Pearl Rosary': Nāropā believes that there are actually no more than eleven bhūmis, while Gaṅgāmitrī and Yogīśvara, among others, believe that there are actually thirteen bhūmis. This is quoting the former's statement, so it should not be confused with the latter's view. The ultimate result of the Vajrayana cannot be achieved without relying on the proximate cause, and even if only one retinue member attains Buddhahood, it is not achieved through great withdrawal or redemption. Although some say that separate resolution of doubts is necessary, this is out of compassionate concern. The answer to 'The ultimate result of the Vajrayana must rely on the proximate cause of either oneself or others, but it is not contradictory that only one retinue member attains Buddhahood' is that the key is: when the practitioner achieves enlightenment by relying on the actions of their own proximate cause, the guru, disciple, ḍākinī, and four mudrās also achieve enlightenment by relying on the actions of other proximate causes. Among these, any one of the four must possess two characteristics: being equal in realization to the practitioner, or being embraced by compassion, or acting according to the teachings, or removing obstacles, or serving as the basis for the proximate cause. Therefore, there are cases of attaining Buddhahood alone, or only two people attaining Buddhahood, or even five people attaining Buddhahood simultaneously, which is the key point.

In the context of contaminated and uncontaminated, 'contaminated' refers to afflictions. Where do these afflictions increase? They increase in contaminated phenomena. These contaminated phenomena are all conditioned phenomena except for the Truth of the Path (梵文:Mārga-satya, the truth of the path), namely the Truth of Suffering (梵文:Duḥkha-satya, the truth of suffering), the Truth of Origin (梵文:Samudaya-satya, the truth of the origin), the Five Aggregates (梵文:Pañca-skandha, five aggregates), the Eleven Āyatanas (梵文:Ekādaśa-āyatana, eleven sources of perception), the Seventeen Dhātus (梵文:Saptadaśa-dhātu, seventeen elements), the Dharma Āyatana (梵文:Dharma-āyatana, the source of mental objects), and a portion of the Dharma Dhātu (梵文:Dharma-dhātu, the element of mental objects) are contaminated. Uncontaminated refers to the cessation of afflictions and their non-increase, namely the Truth of the Path, a portion of the Dharma Āyatana and Dhātu, Space (梵文:Ākāśa, space), Cessation through Discrimination (梵文:Pratisaṃkhyā-nirodha, cessation through analysis), and Cessation without Discrimination (梵文:Apratisaṃkhyā-nirodha, cessation without analysis). These six are uncontaminated. How should we understand this definition in accordance with the root text and commentary of the Abhidharmakośa (梵文:Abhidharmakośa, Treasury of Knowledge)? Do the other seven Abhidharma texts have similar definitions? Are the words 'and' in 'a portion of the lower realm' and 'six' in 'six' redundant? If not, how should they be understood? The answer is: Here, the way the eight chapters (梵文:Aṣṭa-kośa, eight treasuries) of the Abhidharmakośa present the knowable is summarized into three categories: the realm of knowledge, the contaminated, and the uncontaminated. For the realm of knowledge, the first two chapters present detailed classifications and summaries. First, to counteract the three types of self-grasping (梵文:Tri-ātman, three types of self-grasping), the Five Aggregates, the Twelve Āyatanas (梵文:Dvādaśa-āyatana, twelve sources of perception), and the Eighteen Dhātus (梵文:Aṣṭādaśa-dhātu, eighteen elements) are taught. Furthermore, to abandon Saṃsāra (梵文:Saṃsāra, cyclic existence) and attain Nirvāṇa (梵文:Nirvāṇa, liberation), the teachings of the Four Noble Truths (梵文:Catvāri-ārya-satyāni, four noble truths) are explained. Secondly, in the method of summarizing, there are two types of summaries: summarizing into contaminated and uncontaminated, and summarizing into conditioned and unconditioned. In the first case, these texts arise because the definitions of contaminated and uncontaminated need to rely on the Three Dharmas (梵文:Tri-dharma, three laws) and the Four Truths to be determined. Therefore, the definition of contaminated, in short, is conditioned phenomena other than the Truth of the Path. When it is related to the Three Dharmas and the Four Truths, the entire Truth of Suffering and the Truth of Origin are contaminated. Here, there is no need to add the qualifier 'other than the Truth of the Path' because there is no basis for doubt. For the Three Dharmas, the Five Aggregates other than the Truth of the Path, the Eleven Āyatanas other than the Truth of the Path, and the Seventeen Dhātus other than the Truth of the Path are all contaminated. The ten Āyatanas and fifteen Dhātus are contaminated, which is explicitly stated in the Abhidharmakośa. The uncontaminated ones among the other three are only the Truth of the Path. For the Dharma Āyatana and the Dharma Dhātu, the Path --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
