Therefore, having accumulated the karma that propels (to the next life) in the first half of the previous life, and having nourished it with the karma that accomplishes (the next life) in the latter half (of the previous life), the fruits of propulsion and accomplishment will arise in the next life. If it takes a very long time, it will be completed in three lifetimes: accumulating the karma of propulsion in the previous life, nourishing it with the karma of accomplishment in the intermediate life, so that the fruits will arise in the next life. Moreover, it is not certain that the birth of accumulating karma and the birth of nourishing karma will occur continuously, because it is possible that after accumulating the karma of propulsion, many lifetimes may pass without nourishment. The birth of nourishing karma and the birth of accomplishing the fruit are certain to occur continuously, because at the time of nourishing with the karma of accomplishment, the power of the karma of accomplishment is also made strong. If it takes a very long time, it is unreasonable to say that it will be completed in three lifetimes, because it is possible that many lifetimes may pass between the birth of accumulating karma and the birth of accomplishing the fruit. If you say so, there is no fault, because these all belong to other parts of dependent origination. Furthermore, it is impossible for the accumulation of merit and the accumulation of pure land merit to be completed in two countless eons, because it takes three countless eons from the beginning of accumulating merit to the completion of pure land merit. This premise is established. Here, it is not established that craving arises from feeling, because feeling is the result of being nourished by craving and grasping. In response to the above view, Don Sang Khenpo replied that there is no fault because craving arises from feeling, which belongs to other parts of dependent origination. However, the former's idea and the way of answering are not consistent, because the former is arguing based on one part of dependent origination mentioned in the sutras, otherwise he would not admit that craving arises from feeling. To this, answering with belonging to other parts of dependent origination, if it means that the cause and effect included in samsara belong to other parts, then it is not an answer to the former. If it means that the twelve links of dependent origination mentioned in the sutras belong to other parts, then it is impossible to establish that craving arises from feeling in one part of dependent origination mentioned in the sutras. For this school, there is no place for argument, because in one part of the cause and effect included in samsara, the seed of feeling can generate craving, although feeling does not directly manifest. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Because there is no condition for the arising of craving. Secondly, it is divided into eight types of 'propelling' and 'accomplishing', both direct and indirect. The four directly shown are divided into twelve links. The necessity of establishing it in this way. The necessity of placing cause and effect together. So, three and four are the aspects of completion, starting from the fifth. First, the twelve links mentioned in the sutras must each have eight links of 'propelling' and 'accomplishing'. Among them, the two links of cause and effect included in samsara are necessary, because each link has four links of 'propelling' and 'accomplishing'. Thus, there are eight links. Among them, the cause of 'propelling' is directly shown in the case of one ignorance (藏文:མ་རིག་པ།,梵文天城体:अविद्या,梵文罗马拟音:avidyā,汉语字面意思:无明), two actions (藏文:འདུ་བྱེད།,梵文天城体:संस्कार,梵文罗马拟音:saṃskāra,汉语字面意思:行), and three consciousness (藏文:རྣམ་པར་ཤེས་པ།,梵文天城体:विज्ञान,梵文罗马拟音:vijñāna,汉语字面意思:识). One is indirectly shown in the case of craving (藏文:སྲེད་པ།,梵文天城体:तृष्णा,梵文罗马拟音:tṛṣṇā,汉语字面意思:爱), grasping (藏文:ལེན་པ།,梵文天城体:उपादान,梵文罗马拟音:upādāna,汉语字面意思:取), and existence (藏文:སྲིད་པ།,梵文天城体:भव,梵文罗马拟音:bhava,汉语字面意思:有). The fruit of 'propelling' is directly shown from one name and form to feeling. One is indirectly shown in the case of birth and old age and death. The cause of 'accomplishing' is directly shown in the case of one craving, grasping, and existence, and indirectly shown in the case of one ignorance, etc. The fruit of 'accomplishing' is directly shown in the case of one birth and old age and death, and indirectly shown between one name and form to feeling. According to this view, in the twelve links, the feeling of one link causes craving, and the subsequent birth in the next life is not contradictory after the feeling is nourished by craving and grasping. Because the directly shown feeling causes existence, and the indirectly shown feeling causes the next life after being nourished by craving and grasping. Secondly, each of the twelve links mentioned in the sutras has four direct and four indirect displays of 'propelling' and 'accomplishing'. The four direct displays are put together and divided into twelve links. Thirdly, then, what is the necessity of doing this? There are two necessities here. The first is to understand that there are two types of causes, distant causes and near causes, and there are two types of fruits, distant fruits and near fruits. In the case of 'propelling' cause and effect, distant causes and distant fruits are shown, and in the case of 'accomplishing' cause and effect, near causes and near fruits are shown. If you think that understanding these is necessary, then the necessity of understanding that there are two types of causes is that even if distant causes are accumulated, if they are not nourished by near causes, they will not produce fruit, so as to eliminate craving. The necessity of understanding that there are two types of fruits is the nature of the Vipaka --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
