Because it focuses on one object and enters into a state of reversal. Ignorance (Skt: avidyā) as a phenomenon, focuses on the object of wisdom (Skt: jñāna), and focuses on reversing from that object, because it is the opposite of correct wisdom, and is what needs to be overcome. In general, if a mental factor (Skt: caitasika) exists, it must be the same as the mind in five aspects, therefore, you, as a mental factor, must be a mind that holds an object. Since the state of wisdom and your state contradict that object, you do not hold the state of truth. Because it is said that your essence is to attach to objects in a reversed way. As it says in the 'Moon Lamp Sutra': 'Then, what is the absence of ignorance? It is the absence of attaching to the dharmas that exist as they are.' Then, this contradicts what is said, 'ignorance associated with views,' because it is impossible for oneself to be associated with oneself. If someone says that in order to prove that ignorance contradicts views, these two sutras say that they are related, then that sutra is not evidence to prove that ignorance contradicts views, because ignorance is one-sided, and the view of self is part of it, therefore it is to be discussed here that they are related. Therefore, it shows the antidote that completely eliminates everything. The third question is: Then, what is the antidote that completely destroys faults? The path of contemplating the emptiness (Skt: śūnyatā) of the aggregates (Skt: skandha), as a phenomenon, is contrary to the nature of the view of self (Skt: ātmadṛṣṭi) and all the faults such as attachment that arise from it, therefore it is established as their antidote, because you and the way of holding the view of self are directly contradictory, and you enter into the realm of objects. The third question is: Faults, as a phenomenon, even if accustomed to the antidote, will not be exhausted, because it is the nature of living beings. Just as a form will not exhaust its shape, and fire will not exhaust its heat. If someone says that faults, as a phenomenon, should not be exhausted because you are the nature of the mind, because you are not the nature of the mind, because when the antidote, the understanding of no-self (Skt: anātman), is related to the mindstream, the causes of your manifestation also disappear. If, like gold and so on, melts in fire, and when the fire goes out, it hardens again, faults, even if abandoned once, will recur when separated from the antidote, then, in the mindstream where faults are completely stopped by habituating to no-self --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dharma holder, like the firmness of gold, because it is separated from the antidote, faults will not arise again. Because it becomes the nature of the antidote of realizing selflessness, it is not separated from the antidote. Just as ashes do not turn back into wood even when separated from fire, if separated from the antidote, what is to be abandoned by it is not necessarily returned. To establish the antidote, it will be explained below. Second, to establish the antidote, there are three ways: explaining that realizing selflessness is the antidote to counteract self-view; explaining that realizing selflessness is the antidote to counteract craving; apart from these, there are no other ways to counteract karma and afflictions. Explaining that realizing selflessness is the antidote to counteract self-view. First, there are three ways: explaining that self-view is the root of samsara; establishing the argument that it is the root; therefore, advising to eradicate it. Explaining that self-view is the root of samsara. First: Why does realizing selflessness become the antidote to samsara? Because the root of samsara is self-view, and it directly contradicts the way of holding self-view. Why is it the root? Because self-view is proven to be the root of samsara. If someone considers the skandhas (aggregates) as 'I', then he will always be attached and crave for this 'I', and as long as he has a strong craving for 'I', then this person who craves 'I' will wander in samsara. Because from the attachment to 'I', craving for happiness will arise, and craving will obscure the faults of 'my' things, seeing the merits, thereby making the attachment to 'my' things firm through completely craving 'my' things. Therefore, one will strive to achieve the happiness of 'I'. Establishing the argument that it is the root. Second, there are three ways: explaining that self-view is the root of faults; if self-view exists, there will be no detachment; if one cannot detach, one will wander in samsara. Explaining that self-view is the root of faults. First: Self-view is the root of all faults. If someone has self-grasping, then he will generate attachment from the difference with others, that is, attachment to 'my' side; hatred will arise from the side of others. Associated with these attachment and hatred, all faults such as jealousy and stinginess will arise. If self-view exists, there will be no detachment. Second, there are two ways: self-view generates both attachment and hatred; there is no other way to abandon these two. Self-view generates both attachment and hatred. First: That person with self-grasping who wants to have attachment and detachment towards 'my' things... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
