Jumping when untrained is not like jumping after being trained, because initially, when untrained, imbalances of humors etc. cause unfavorable conditions for the body, making it heavy. Even if unfavorable conditions are gradually eliminated later through effort, the person who jumps does not jump infinitely, because their jumping is limited by their own physical strength. Refuting arguments that are too extreme: Fourth, if love etc. increase from self-awareness, then since all beings have self-awareness, will it increase infinitely? Ordinary beings, love etc. do not increase infinitely, because love arises from its own seed, and if its own seed is not harmed by previous causes (i.e., unfavorable factors that have become the fruit, such as hatred etc.), then the mind-stream will transform into the nature of love, but you have obstacles such as hatred etc. If there are no obstacles and one is accustomed to favorable conditions, then love etc. will increase infinitely, because this habit is the previous and previous mind-dharma, such as love and non-attachment wisdom etc., which are the root of the manifestation of other later distinctions. Explaining the example of one's own position: Third, explaining the example of one's own position: If there is no example of love etc. not increasing infinitely, then what is the example of increasing infinitely like? There is an example of love transforming into the nature of love through habit, this love desires to save beings from suffering, just as non-attachment, attachment, and aversion (i.e., meditating on ugliness) arise naturally on their own. The way the teacher arises from this: Second, there are four ways in which the teacher arises from this: The way to guide an upright teacher with love; The way to purify the object and aspects of the teacher; Demonstrating that habituating the object and aspects becomes the teacher; Therefore, thought and action become the cause. The way to guide an upright teacher with love: First, if it is said 'compassion as proof', then how does it become proof? In general, it is a mistake to prove the result from just the cause, but just by the existence of the cause, the result also arises naturally, just as if there is craving, the aggregates of suffering arise naturally. Therefore, if there is compassion that arises naturally, then the latter three, such as the teacher, also arise naturally, therefore it becomes proof. A loving person, in order to destroy the suffering of others, desires to pacify suffering himself and then agrees. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

He is manifestly applying himself to the paths, the means of taming, for he intends to show without perversion the means of pacifying suffering for others. It is pervasive, for it is difficult to explain without perversion to others that the means have arisen to pacify suffering, and that the cause, the means, is obscure to oneself without being manifestly realized. **How the Teacher trains the object and aspects:** The second has three parts: examining the cause and nature of what is to be abandoned; examining the antidote for destroying that cause; and explaining the abandonment and antidote established by examination. **Examining the cause and nature of what is to be abandoned:** First, the compassionate one, since experiencing suffering is established, examines in detail by scripture and reasoning the cause of that. He contemplates what particular arising of suffering, when abandoned, is capable of destroying the suffering as its fruit; that the cause is impermanent; and the nature of the defining characteristic of actions and so forth, for he wishes to destroy the suffering as its fruit. It is pervasive, for since the former, the cause of suffering, remains, there is no seeing the reversal of the suffering as its fruit. **Examining the antidote for destroying that cause:** Second, the compassionate one contemplates the opposite side of the cause of suffering, for he wishes to destroy the cause of suffering. Thus, having contemplated, the compassionate one also necessarily becomes certain of the opposite side of the cause of suffering, for he understands the essence of the cause of suffering. Just as knowing the disease, one recognizes the medicine. **Explaining the abandonment and antidote established by examination:** Third, well then, what is the cause of suffering and what is its antidote? The attachment, that is, craving, done by the apprehension of self and what belongs to self, which has as its sphere of operation the five aggregates of conditioned things, is the principal cause of suffering, for it is the independent producer of suffering. The wisdom seeing selflessness is the counteracting antidote to that cause of suffering, for the apprehension of self, the cause of suffering, and it have the same object but opposite ways of apprehending. **Showing how to habituate the object and aspects:** Third, the means of pacifying suffering, that is, the path, the seeing of selflessness, when habituated in many ways, extensively, that is, without interruption, for a long time, is that from which the teacher of the time of the fruit arises, for from that one abandons the cause and effect of cyclic existence, and the antidote, selflessness. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
