If all have not seen, then it is not established. If you assert that which you yourself have not seen, then, O Outsider, merely because you have not seen, you cannot prove that sentient beings do not transmigrate. Because your senses are unclear, therefore you have not seen the birth of sentient beings, but it is not that you have not seen because they do not exist. For example, one with unclear vision does not see even a small smoke, even though it exists. If that sentient being taking birth, does not enter the place of birth without obstruction, because it has a body. Some beings with bodies enter other beings with bodies without obstruction, because the intermediate state body, although it has a body, is a subtle and clear body, therefore it enters the womb etc. without obstruction. For example, water in a new pot, and mercury in refined gold. If entering the womb is also not reasonable, because it is not seen. O Outsider, because you have not seen, it is not that there is no entering the womb, because it has already been said that you have not seen the entering of the womb because your senses are unclear. Refutation of Generating Mind Based on the Body Sixth Chapter There are two: A single substance with limbs cannot be a cause, nor can a body with many limbs be a cause. A single substance with limbs cannot be a cause The first part has three points: Refuting a single substance with limbs, avoiding overly absolute conclusions, and explaining the refutation of other views. Refuting a single substance with limbs The first point is: If it is the immediate cause of body and mind, then is it the body of a coarse single substance, or the body of many atoms? If it is the former, then all parts of the body other than the hand, etc., if any one of the hand etc. moves, you will move. Because any one of the hand etc. and you are an indivisible single substance. This is universally valid, because contradictory actions of moving and not moving cannot occur in an indivisible single substance. If the hand moves, it is the limb that moves, not the whole with limbs. Then the whole with limbs will become a different substance from the limb, because the limb moves, but the whole does not move. Also, all parts of the body other than the head, if one like the head is covered by a cloth, you will be covered, or if one is not covered by a cloth, you will also be seen not covered by a cloth. Because you and the head are an indivisible single substance. Also, all the limbs of the body other than the face, if one like the face is changed by paint --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So, are you also changed because of the change in color? If not changed, then you are also understood to be unchanged, because you are inseparable from the face. Therefore, the body composed of many particles, its nature is: it is not a single entity, but a collection of many particles, because it has multiple attributes such as movement and non-movement. Avoiding excessive extremism. Divided into two parts: stating excessive extremism, and refuting this extremism. Stating excessive extremism. The Vaisheshika says: The substances with components such as the body and the pot are not single entities, but a collection of many particles. However, things like the body and the pot should not be cognized by sensory consciousness, nor should they have the ability to obstruct and obscure. Because they are no different from the previous particles that cannot be perceived by sensory consciousness and do not have the ability to obstruct and obscure. Moreover, the later body and pot are still the previous particles. Just like the state of the particles before the formation of the gross object. Refuting this extremism. Divided into two parts: the assertion that there is no difference between particles is not established; if it is established, then other schools will also face the same problem. The assertion that there is no difference between particles is not established. First, things like the body, even if you are a particle, it is not established that there is no difference between you and the previous particles that cannot be perceived by the senses. Because the previous particles combined with other particles to produce your current state, so you are different from the previous particles. The particles with special attributes, such as the body, although essentially particles, cannot be called 'particles'. Because although you are a particle, you become the object of sensory consciousness by creating an image in sensory consciousness. This is mentioned in the commentary of Pramāṇasamuccaya: 'Although mental direct perception is a valid cognition, it cannot lead to certainty arising from itself, so it does not obtain the name of valid cognition.' For example, the object of sensory consciousness is a fine particle, but it does not appear, so it is not considered an object. Nowadays, most people think that particles are not the object of sensory consciousness, which is the view of this treatise, because they have not understood the view of the Sautrantika school mentioned in the Seven Treatises. The Sautrantika school believes that the particles have no directional parts in space, and the consciousness has no sequential parts in time, and these are all real. Moreover, the direct perception and self-awareness that hold these meanings are infallible. Gross objects and continuums are all considered conventional truths, and the concepts that hold these are considered false. Therefore, many particles will not form a single gross object, and particles will not be transformed into other things. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
