The appearance of the exhaustion of dharmata is the self-radiance of the unchanging nature of the ground dharmata, the clear light of the awareness of dharmata on the manifest path, which is also just an image of the outward appearance of awareness, and not the essence itself. Like the moon in the empty sky, it wanes naturally and disappears. The self-radiance disappears into the space without increasing or decreasing. Even the subtle wind that moves the awareness is completely calmed. Through the four key points, the movement of the wind increases into wisdom, and through the power of the purity of dharmata, the external elements of illusory appearances and the internal imprints of illusory thoughts and emotions are exhausted. All the experiences of secret clear light also dissolve into the inexpressible space of dharmata, like spreading out the fingers in the light, and nothing else appears. There is no inherent nature in grasping at appearance and non-appearance, and it is free from the concepts of samsara and nirvana. At that time, the awareness of dharmata increases greatly in ultimate truth, and it does not diminish. However, because it does not establish the nature of anything, it is beyond the mind of thought and expression, and therefore it is called the appearance of exhaustion. Thus, there are two ways of exhaustion: gradual exhaustion is the exhaustion after the four appearances have reached their limit. A few very intelligent people can increase simply by familiarizing themselves with manifest appearances, and there is also exhaustion that does not depend on reaching the limit. In any case, because the tangible is transformed into light, it cannot be overcome by the enemies of the elements. Because the afflictions are transformed into light, memory and the subtle thoughts of remembrance disappear without a trace. Because appearances are transformed into light, the illusions of going, staying, and the appearances of the sun and moon naturally vanish without a trace, and even the thought that "this is how it is" cannot be established. Therefore, all forms are said to be in nirvana, the dharmakaya is self-purified, and the dharmata reaches its own place. At this time, there is no obstruction to clairvoyance, and it remains only in a state of clear compassion. Otherwise, all experiences, body, senses, thoughts, words, and illusions are exhausted, and thoughts naturally vanish. Because the aggregates are exhausted, one attains irreversible Buddhahood in the light body. As the root tantra says: The appearance of the exhaustion of dharmata is the emptiness of the appearance of experience, the body is exhausted, the objects of the senses are also exhausted, thoughts and illusions are naturally liberated, and it is free from the words of expression.

Thus it is said. Although the fruit cannot be expressed, when all phenomena have reached their end, one's own sectarian views also collapse. At this time, the guru's instructions are obscured, and after the limits of view, meditation, and action are exhausted, the appearance of the Dharmakaya no longer exists. Because the continuity of body and wisdom is severed, there is no Buddha and no sentient beings. In short, nothing remains; there is no going and no coming. Thus it is said. If one wishes to manifest the body of the Great Transference here to benefit sentient beings, then by having power over birth, appearances gradually diminish. By focusing awareness on the appearance of fingers being encircled by light, one is liberated from that appearance, and one sees the external world and internal beings as water moons and dreams. One's own body appears like a rainbow, but without inherent existence, it is merely transparent emptiness. Although others with impure eyes do not see it, one sees it oneself, and in that state, there is no birth, death, aging, or decay. One can benefit sentient beings with a vajra-like body, like the great teacher father and mother, and the great scholar Vimalamitra. If one is not inclined to perform vast benefit for others in that very form of the body at that time, then by having power over absorption, one enters into the inner space. Then, again, one arises from the inner clarity of Dharmata, and with activities of inseparable body and wisdom, one can benefit others until samsara is empty, like the spontaneously accomplished activities of the three kayas of the Lord of Sages (Shakyamuni Buddha). In other paths and Trekchö (Cutting Through), the body dissolves into particles, and the mind is purified into Dharmata, resulting only in liberation in original purity. Thus, dissolving into particles and appearing as light gives one power over both arising and absorption, which is a unique characteristic of Tögal (Leap Over). Thus, by temporarily reaching the measure of the four visions, the boundaries of each are separated, and ultimately, by witnessing the exhaustion of phenomena, one becomes a Buddha in the state of no residue. If one does not exhaust them in this way, one will not become a Buddha in the state of no residue. As it is said in the tantras: "Thus, after the arising of the body is cut off, the contaminated aggregates do not appear; in this, one attains perfect enlightenment." Thus it is said. If Dharmata does not reach exhaustion, one will not become a Buddha in the state of no residue. Thus it is said. Explanation of the Practice of the Four Supports Establishing the Foundation on the Three Immovables Secondly, the explanation of the practice of the four supports. In the Longchen Nyingthig of Longchen Rabjampa (Longchenpa), it is said: "The four supports are four kinds of instructions; there is no way to be without them after the former." This is the essence of the meaning.
