The basis is the Buddha, the ultimate Dharma that is inseparable from words and letters, the Sangha of unborn essence that is free from self-movement, all of which are naturally and spontaneously present within oneself. As it is said in the Klong Drug Pa: "The Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha are inherently complete and reside within one's own body." Introducing the three Kayas: From beginningless time, one's own body, which arises from the self-radiance of the five wisdoms of awareness, whatever appears is the Nirmanakaya of awareness; unceasing and clear speech is the Sambhogakaya of awareness; and mind without conceptualization is the Dharmakaya of awareness. Since these are spontaneously present from the beginning, henceforth, the body should be the three postures of the three Kayas, speech should be the state of the Dharmakaya, which is beyond expression, and the mind should not stray from the meaning of unborn and inconceivable. As the root Tantra says: "Furthermore, all sentient beings in the three realms are not separate from body, speech, and mind, therefore, there is no need to seek the three Kayas elsewhere."

The meaning of "La" is to be undistracted and at ease, without bias towards appearances, without clinging to clarity, without needing difficulty, and to rest in a state of neither meditating nor not meditating, which is the path. Its culmination is the fruit. As stated in the Root Tantra: "Mirror-like equality is individually realized; action accomplishes the Dharmadhatu wisdom." The five families are: The essence of clear light, the great emptiness, is immutable, hence the Vajra family. Qualities are perfectly complete, hence the Ratna family. Appearances are untainted by flaws, hence the Padma family. Those who are accustomed to these attain complete accomplishment, hence the Karma family. This itself is the footprint of all Buddhas, hence the Tathagata family. To become accustomed to this state is the path; its culmination is the fruit. As stated in Rangshar: "The Tathagata family, the Vajra family, the Ratna family, the Padma family, and the Karma family." The five lights are: Those clear lights are without impurities, hence white. Qualities are complete, hence yellow. Not sought but naturally present, hence red. Activities are perfectly skilled, hence green. Unchanging and stable, hence blue; thus they abide as five. To abide in that state is the path; its culmination is the fruit. As stated in the Tantra: "The qualities of awareness manifest as five lights." The five winds are: The appearance of clear light is inseparable from the warmth of wisdom, hence the wind that is like fire. It holds the life of samsara and nirvana, hence the life-holding wind. It separates the essence and dross of samsara and nirvana, hence the separating wind. It spreads equally to all, hence the pervasive wind. It severs the life of samsara and causes liberation from suffering, hence the merciless aeon-ending wind of action, totaling five. Habituation is the path, and culmination is the fruit. As stated in Rangshar: "Awareness is the nature of the five winds; it abides in all sentient beings." The five wisdoms are: The nature of clear light distinguishes samsara and nirvana based on whether or not it is realized, hence the discriminating wisdom. The power of wisdom gathers appearances, hence the gathering wisdom. It pervades all, hence the pervasive wisdom. Clear appearances have coming and going, hence the acting wisdom. If one realizes it, one is liberated from samsara, hence the liberating wisdom, totaling five. Habituation and culmination are the path and the fruit. As stated therein: "It is also the nature of awareness, endowed with five aspects of wisdom." The five Dakinis are: Clear light appears as five colors such as blue, hence Buddha ཊཱཀྐི་ (Tibetan: སངས་རྒྱས་ཊཱཀྐི། , Sanskrit Devanagari: बुद्ध ḍāki, Sanskrit Romanization: buddha ḍāki, meaning: Buddha Dakini) etc.
