Caused by external perceived objects as conditions, one wanders endlessly in samsara. Now, through the guru's instructions, merely recognizing the instant of awareness's flaw, one rests in the state of suchness without alteration, without distraction, and without cultivation. This alone clearly reveals the essence of the primordial Buddha Samantabhadra's intention. As stated in the 'Six Spaces': In the mind-essence without permanence or annihilation, the appearance free from good or bad, is the intention free from acceptance or rejection, thus Samantabhadra declares. In the mind-essence without acceptance or rejection, the appearance of impartial self-liberation, is the intention of vast expanse, thus Samantabhadra declares. In the mind-essence without sinking or rising, the intention of great equanimity, is the intention of the six aggregates being relaxed, thus Samantabhadra declares. In the mind-essence without fear, the appearance free from hope or dread, is the intention of original abiding, confident realization, thus Samantabhadra declares. Furthermore, as stated in the 'Heap of Jewels': This nature of reality without a root, is wonderfully found without searching. In the awareness of going and coming, it is wonderfully without end. In the primordial great wisdom, it is wonderfully without an antidote. Furthermore, as stated in the 'All-Creating King': The Buddhas of the past also, never sought the Dharma outside their own minds, never altered what is as it is, never meditated on conceptualizing samadhi, one achieves by not conceptualizing one's own mind. Those who abide now and those who will come in the future will also achieve through non-conceptual equality. Therefore, recognizing that the nature of mind is inherently the great self-liberation, is awareness. Maintaining the continuity of this awareness is faster than other paths for forcibly attaining Buddhahood, so rejoice! Thus, joy is generated.

The way in which clinging to what can be expressed is a formidable obscuration of one's own nature, bound by definitive understanding. As it says in 'Perfect Lion's Strength': 'By meditating on contemplation, one does not see the meaning of reality. Self-appearing samadhi is separate from the side of thought. Reality, free from elaboration, is equal to the edge of the sky. There is no grasping thought in the realm of objects of focus. The Buddha, free from the four extremes, is self-knowing awareness. The Dharmakaya transcends the extremes of existence and non-existence.' And as it says in 'Great Garuda Soaring': 'Whatever effort is made without limit, is like a blind bird seeking the edge of the sky, it is not found. This meaning that is not found, no one can change once it is found. There is no end to this knowable, free from elaboration.' Likewise, even if one does not intentionally cling to whatever thoughts of good or bad arise in the realm of the six senses, such as visual appearances, according to the reasoning of the Mind-Only school, merely blocking the appearance of objects with mental constructs such as emptiness's negation and non-affirmation will not lead to Buddhahood. If that were the case, then not distinguishing between appearance and the object of appearance would lead to the Mind-Only school with its defiled true appearances. But it is not so. Although it is unavoidable that the thought 'it is that' arises in the first moment of seeing something, like on the path of ordinary beings, in the second moment, the power of mind and mental factors that analyze its nature causes the previous thought to vanish without a trace. Even though the appearance of the object does not cease, one becomes accustomed to abiding in the nature of reality without clinging. Thus, arising and liberation are simultaneously purified, and the mixing of appearance and mind is the unmistaken path of the Great Perfection of self-nature. As it says in 'The All-Creating King': 'When the six senses perceive the six objects, seeing suffering causes the senses to cease. Thus, one does not understand what the All-Creating King has done, and there is no result of arising and ceasing.' And as Rigdzin Garab Dorje said: 'At the time of arising, there is simultaneous arising, without good or bad. At the time of liberation, there is simultaneous liberation, without good or bad.' Therefore, one does not need to rely on purification efforts accompanied by the toil of accepting and rejecting the impurities of the elements. It is far superior to the contaminated disciplines and practices entangled with the notions of guarding, meditating, learning, and experiencing. This is the view of the King of the Supreme Vehicle of Self-Nature, the single bindu beyond effort and thought, and the skillful means of the path of the perfections, and the samadhi of wisdom.
