Even the clinging and conceptualization of holding onto appearance and emptiness will naturally self-liberate in the state of great primordial liberation of awareness. As it says in the Transcendent Treatise: "The awareness that arises, like a snake knot, is self-liberated. Since there is no essence, stop striving! Its very nature is primordially liberated." And in the Detailed Arrangement: "Unceasing power manifests in any way whatsoever. From the very moment of arising, it is liberated in its own place. Liberation cannot be expressed merely as 'liberation.' Likewise, what is not liberated?" And: "Perfect Buddhahood is self-awareness itself. Its essence does not change in the three times. Its nature is always unceasing. Compassion is the self-display for all." In short, although the mind is deluded thought, if you recognize the nature of delusion, it is awareness. Since the nature of deluded thought is not established as delusion, it is emptiness, and since the essence of awareness is not annihilation or emptiness, it is luminosity. Whatever arises from the radiance of self-awareness is unceasing, and having realized that the play of self-appearance is inseparable from appearance and emptiness, the nature of whatever arises of awareness is beyond bondage and liberation. Self-liberated in the sphere of pristine purity, free from elaboration, the ultimate state beyond what is to be meditated upon and the meditator is recognized from the perspective of view. Introducing experience on the path of meditation. Introducing the state of self-abiding contemplation. Secondly, introducing experience on the path of meditation: The great treasure revealer Gyurme Dorje said that there are two ways to introduce it: introducing the state of self-abiding contemplation and introducing the play of self-radiant wisdom. Here, too, it should be done in that way. First, introducing the state of contemplation: As it says in the Precious Lamp: "From the nature of the three placements, the very meaning of primordial purity will become manifest." As it is said, the body in vajra posture and equipoise, unmoving, is like a mountain placement. The eyes fixed straight ahead, about an arrow's length away, unmoving, is like an ocean placement. Unfabricated, fresh, natural awareness abiding effortlessly in its own natural state is awareness placement. Thus, allow it to remain unmoving in equipoise. Alas! Fortunate ones, look without distraction at this present, self-luminous, naked awareness! The stainless, pure Buddha is: Self-awareness, the dharmakaya, unchanging. Sa le seng nge wal le ba. Like a cloudless autumn sky. Remain like an unchangeable, stable mountain! Like an unmoving, clear sea

May it remain like the ocean! May it remain like the sky, free from narrowness! However it remains, may it be the state of awareness! However it arises, may it be the radiance of awareness! May radiating and abiding be clear and lucid self-awareness! Just as birds, no matter where they fly, do not go beyond the sky, so too, abide in the state of awareness. May all phenomena be self-luminous and unwavering! Having said this, abiding in the state of clear and pure mind, by the circumstance of casting it into the expanse with "PHAṬ" (藏文,梵文天城体:फट्,梵文罗马拟音:phaṭ,汉语字面意思:啪), although the previous state of non-thought disappears, the awareness of arising sensations and the vast self-luminous wisdom without the antidote of clinging to it, appears like an empty space. This is the meditation of awareness abiding in itself, therefore, recognizing it, consciousness transforms. At any time when good or bad thoughts arise, by staring intently at the self-aware, natural state, the meditation of non-grasping, self-abiding arises nakedly and clearly. This alone is the effortless, spontaneously accomplished practice, like the continuous flow of a river. Having introduced it thus, and having gained some stability there, through the circumstance of combining various behaviors with one's own experience, by blending it with meditation, all actions, behaviors, memories, and thoughts arise as the play of the nature of reality, without distinction between meditative equipoise and post-meditation, without distinction between day and night, without the dharma of acceptance and rejection, without the calculation of the meditator and the object of meditation, everything reverberates in the self-radiance of awareness, the exhaustion of phenomena, the state of original purity. Thus it is said. Likewise, it is said in the Prasangika: In the wisdom of the essence of original purity, there is no existence called ignorance, therefore, there is no counting of one and two, and even wisdom itself is not established. Thus it is said. Introduction to the Play of Self-Radiant Wisdom. Introduction to Abiding as the Ornament of the Mind. Secondly, the introduction to the play of self-radiant wisdom is divided into three parts: abiding is the ornament, radiating is the play, and the introduction to non-duality as equality. First, the introduction to abiding as the ornament of the mind is: keeping the three doors straight, without wavering, abiding naturally and relaxed, and in that state, naturally letting go of various thoughts such as accepting and rejecting good and bad, and affirming and negating the mind, just as the waves of the great ocean subside, clear and unmoving, all the illusions and conceptual proliferations of the mind are completely pacified, and the co-emergent wisdom of clarity and emptiness, in the original, primordial state of non-confusion, abides loosely and comfortably, clearly and brightly.
