It is seen clearly in the realm of space, so it is said. Having become accustomed in this way, even without practicing, one reaches the standard, because there is no change, and ultimately one recognizes the Sambhogakaya, so one becomes enlightened without a bardo, and enjoys great bliss without separation in the Sambhogakaya's pure land. One must reach the standard in this way, and if one does not reach it, one will not possess these qualities, and it will also turn into the opposite fault. The tantra says: When awareness reaches the standard, the Sambhogakaya will be manifest. And: If awareness does not reach the standard, the warmth of yoga will not be attained. And: If one does not reach the standard in this way, the clinging to the appearance of the aggregates will not be purified. So it is. The Appearance of the Exhaustion of Dharmata Fourth, the appearance of the exhaustion of dharmata is: the self-radiance of the ground dharmata, which is immutable, the appearance of the great luminosity of the awareness of dharmata, which is the path of manifestation, is perfected, but that is only an image of the radiance of awareness shining outward, because it is not the essence itself, it increases and decreases, like the moon in the empty sky naturally waning and becoming invisible. The self-radiance subsides in the expanse without increasing or decreasing, and the subtle wind of the moving awareness also completely ceases. Through the four key points, the movement of the wind increases into wisdom, and through the power of the purification of dharmata, the external element, the deluded aspect of the environment, and the internal deluded conceptual mind, the habitual tendencies of arising are exhausted, and all the experiential appearances of secret luminosity also dissolve into the inexpressible expanse of dharmata, so that only the fingers of the hand spread out are visible from within the light, and there is no complete appearance. There is no essence of clinging to appearance and non-appearance, and it is separated from the concepts of samsara and nirvana. At that time, the awareness of dharmata increases greatly in ultimate truth, and there is no exhaustion and becoming smaller, but because no essence is established, it transcends the wisdom of thought and expression, therefore it is called the appearance of exhaustion. Thus, there are two ways of exhaustion: gradual exhaustion is the exhaustion after the four appearances have reached the standard. For a few extremely intelligent people, once they become accustomed to the manifest appearance, there will be increase, and there will also be exhaustion without relying on reaching the standard. In any case, because the obstructive matter is transformed into light, it cannot be overcome by the enemies of the elements. The afflictions are transformed into light, so the memory and the object of memory will disappear without a trace. The appearance is transformed into light, so the place to go, the place to stay, and the appearance of the sun and moon, etc.

Illusions and so on vanish without a trace, and even the thought "it is like this" does not arise. All appearances are beyond suffering, the Dharmakaya is naturally pure, and the Dharmata reaches its own place. At this time, unobstructed direct perception remains only as a clear aspect of compassion. Furthermore, experiences, body, senses, thoughts, words, and all delusions are exhausted, and thinking naturally dissolves. Because the aggregates are exhausted and do not return, one attains enlightenment in the light body. As the Root Tantra says: "The appearance of the exhaustion of Dharmata is when the appearance of experience is empty, the body is exhausted, and the realm of the senses is also exhausted. Thoughts and delusions are naturally liberated, and one is separated from the words of expression." And: "Although the result cannot be expressed, all dharmas have reached exhaustion, and the limit of one's own accomplishment is also destroyed. At this time, the guru's instructions disappear, the limits of view, meditation, and action are exhausted, the appearance of the Dharmakaya is non-existent, and the continuity of body and wisdom is cut off. There is no Buddha and no sentient being. In short, nothing remains. There is no going and no coming." Thus it is said. Here, if one wishes to arise as the body of the Great Transference and benefit sentient beings, by having power over rebirth, appearances gradually diminish. When the fingers appear to be surrounded by light, one entrusts awareness to that appearance. From that appearance, one naturally returns and sees the outer world and inner beings as like water moons and dreams. One's own body appears like a rainbow, without inherent existence, merely transparent. Others, because their eyes are not pure, do not see it, but one sees it oneself. In that state, there is no birth, death, aging, or decay. One can benefit sentient beings with a vajra-like body, like the great teacher Padmasambhava and his consort, and the great scholar Vimalamitra. If one does not wish to perform great benefit for others at that time with that form, by having power over entering, one enters into the inner space. Again, one arises from the inner clarity of Dharmata, and with the activity of inseparable body and wisdom, one can benefit others until samsara is empty, like the spontaneously accomplished activity of the three kayas of the King of Sages. In other paths and Trekchö, the body merely dissolves into particles, and the mind dissolves into Dharmata, liberating into primordial purity. In this way, dissolving into particles and appearing as light, one has power over both birth and entering, which is unique to Tögal.
