Being green due to the perfection of activity, and blue due to immutability and stability, thus abiding in the five. Remaining in that state is the path, and the ultimate is the fruit. As the tantra says: The qualities of awareness are clear as five lights. The five winds are: This appearance of clear light is inseparable from the warmth of wisdom, hence it is the wind equal to fire. Holding the life of samsara and nirvana, it is the life-holding wind. Separating the essence and dross of samsara and nirvana, it is the separating wind. Spreading equally to all, it is the pervasive wind. Cutting off the life of samsara and causing liberation from sorrow, it is the merciless, kalpa-ending karmic wind, these five. Familiarization is the path, and the ultimate is the fruit. As it says in Rangshar: Awareness, in the nature of the five winds, abides in all sentient beings. The five wisdoms are: The dharmata of clear light, distinguishing samsara and nirvana based on whether or not it is realized, hence it is the discriminating wisdom. The power of wisdom gathers appearances, hence it is the gathering wisdom. Pervading all, it is the pervasive wisdom. Clear appearances, including coming and going, hence it is the moving wisdom. If that is realized, it liberates from samsara, hence it is the liberating wisdom, thus abiding in the five. Familiarizing with that and perfecting it is the path and the fruit. As it says in that very text: That also, in the essence of awareness, possesses five aspects of wisdom. The five dakinis are: Clear light, blue, etc., appearing as five, hence one sees the faces of the five Buddhas, such as Takkis. The five afflictions, such as delusion, are purified, and one touches the five wisdoms, such as the dharmadhatu wisdom. All of that is the basis. Familiarizing with each individually is the path, and the ultimate is the fruit. As the tantra says: The wisdom of empty-clear awareness abides in the five kinds of dakinis. Thus, the five aggregates, etc., are also taught in that very tantra: From the self-born power of awareness, there are the five bodies and the five wisdoms, the five families, the five lights, the five winds, the five wisdoms, etc., abide. In short, the dharmata that abides in that way is not something conceptually fabricated by the mind, nor is it an empty form that arises from the interdependence of the effort of holding the channels and winds, nor is it a mental image examined by the experiences and mental activity of consciousness, but rather it is seen as the nature of the unmistaken, directly perceived dharmata of spontaneously accomplished appearances and experiences. That is also the nature of the sphere, primordially pure from the beginning, empty-clear, uncompounded, which is wisdom, the nature of awareness, the dharmata, the great clear light.

Appearances are skillful means. From the very beginning, in the nature of spontaneous perfection, they abide in a state of indivisibility of appearance and emptiness. Such appearances are not worldly, conditioned, and perishable phenomena; they are the unconditioned nature of reality, the unchanging nature of Dharma. These clear lights of appearance are not like worldly illusions. As the Jeweled Casket says: "The nature of space is the wisdom body, the nature of awareness is the body of skillful means, abiding in a state of indivisibility." And as the Root Tantra says: "The nature of awareness is a continuous stream, in the past, future, and present. It is not made by anyone, therefore it is unconditioned. It is the nature of a continuous stream. All discriminations are pure, the unerring basis is the Buddha. For the fortunate who rely on manifestation, there is no name for the three realms of samsara, cutting off the life force of the three existences." And as the Lamp Illuminating says: "Such diverse appearances are not made or brought about by steps. From the very beginning, they abide in the ground. Thus, the confident yogi has no mind of joy when they appear. The way of abiding is thus from the beginning. The appearance of the lamp of awareness cannot be destroyed by the sounds of earth, water, fire, and wind. Uninstructed individuals, even if they look with a clear lamp, a mirror, or empty eyes, will not see it. Those who establish philosophical tenets and practice meditation will not find it by searching. It is not made by divination or power, nor is it a worldly illusion. Attachment, aversion, and ignorance have never obscured it. The self-appearances that arise in oneself cannot be analyzed by wisdom. Even if one examines it with tantras, scriptures, and instructions, one will not see it. The appearances of hells, animals, hungry ghosts, and the six realms are oneself. They are not deliberately created; they have always appeared in this way. They are not produced by the efforts of individuals. That is the mandala, that is the deity. The mantra, mudra, and offering, the stages of generation and completion, are the Buddhas, sentient beings, samsara, and nirvana. Empowerment, vows, and samaya, one's own guru is also the deity." As it is said, from the very beginning, without effort, spontaneously arising, the great perfection, the three bodies indivisible, directly seeing the mandala of clear light.
