Even the Buddhas of the past, Did not seek Dharma outside of their own minds. They never tried to alter what is as it is, They never meditated on conceptual samadhi. Self-mind is accomplished by non-conceptuality, Those who dwell now and those who will come later, Will also be accomplished by non-conceptual equality. Thus, the essence of mind is inherently present in the great self-liberation from the very beginning, and recognizing this is rigpa. Maintaining its continuity is faster than other paths for forcibly attaining Buddhahood, so rejoice! Thus, joy is generated. Clearing Doubts and Liberating from Obstacles Third, clearing doubts and liberating from obstacles: When maintaining the continuity of the great self-abiding state of reality in this way, if one thinks that the essence of that rigpa is emptiness, then the one who imputes emptiness is the mind, so there is something to grasp onto, and Dharma with something to grasp onto will not lead to Buddhahood, so the obscuration of clinging to emptiness itself must be abandoned as a great liberation from extremes. Like this, to confidently assert that the way of abiding of the essence that transcends extremes such as existence and non-existence is like this, is a formidable obscuration of one's own ground bound by certainty. As it says in "The Lion's Complete Strength": "Meditating on contemplation does not see the meaning of Dharmata, Self-appearance, samadhi, is separate from the side of thought. Dharmata, free from elaboration, is equal to the edge of the sky, There is no grasping or conceptualization of the objects of focus. The Buddha who is free from the four extremes is self-awareness, The Dharmakaya transcends the extremes of existence and non-existence." And as it says in "The Great Garuda Soaring": "Whatever effort is made without limit, Is like a blind bird seeking the edge of the sky, it cannot be found. This meaning of not finding, even if found, cannot be altered by anyone. This knowable, free from elaboration, has no end." Likewise, regarding whatever arises in the realm of the six senses, such as visual appearances, whether virtuous or non-virtuous, even if one does not intentionally grasp onto them, if one intentionally blocks the appearance of objects with mental constructs such as emptiness as negation or non-affirmation, as in the Mind-Only school, one will not attain Buddhahood. If so, since appearance and the object of appearance are not distinguished, one might fall into the tainted true appearance of Mind-Only. It is not so. Although it is inevitable that the thought "it is that" arises in the first moment of seeing something on the path of ordinary beings, in the second moment

Therefore, after the mind and mental factors' skill of examining its own nature is perfected, the previous conceptual thoughts naturally vanish without a trace, and although the appearance of things does not cease, because of being accustomed to abiding in the nature of non-grasping, appearance and liberation are simultaneously purified, and appearance and mind merge. This is the unerring path of the Great Perfection of self-nature. In the 'All-Creating King' it says: 'When the six faculties perceive the six objects, seeing suffering causes the faculties to cease. Therefore, not understanding what the All-Creating King has done, there is no fruit of arising and ceasing for it.' Also, the Vidyadhara Garab Dorje said: 'At the time of arising, equal arising has no good or bad; at the time of liberation, equal liberation has no good or bad.' Therefore, it does not rely on diligence in purifying the defilements of the realms with the labor of acceptance and rejection, and it far surpasses the contaminated trainings bound by the clinging thoughts of guarding, meditating, learning, and practicing. The intention of the King of Self-Nature Great Vehicle is the single bindu that transcends action and thought. In terms of the method of practicing the path of the perfections, and in terms of the samadhi of wisdom, everything is pure in the Dharma nature of awareness of the All-Creating King, the Supreme Mind. As it says in the 'Sutra of Special Inquiry': 'Non-grasping is generosity, non-abiding is discipline, non-guarding is patience, non-diligence is exertion, non-attention is meditation, non-discrimination is wisdom.' It is like that. Training the skill of practice on oneself. Mixing with circumstances. Fourth, from recognizing the meaning of the primordially pure state of Dharma nature, there are three ways to train the skill of practice on oneself: mixing with circumstances, placing in the womb, and the method of obstructing and closing. First, mixing the skill with the circumstances of the three self-liberations, as it says in the 'Essential Instructions': 'Introduce the self-liberation of the five poisons, introduce the self-liberation of the five doors, introduce the self-liberation of the six aggregates, and after becoming proficient and settled in this way, one can determine the meaning of cutting through.' To this, Omniscient Longchenpa said: 'The five poisons, five doors, and six aggregates are the three self-liberations.' Therefore, it is the same here. First, the self-liberation of the five poisons is: whatever arises of the five poisonous emotions that destroy lasting happiness and steal the life-force of liberation, without abandoning them, abide in the great natural ease of self-liberation, without grasping.
