Like seeing the three supports (Buddha image, scripture, stupa) but not understanding their true nature, this is real but not fundamental. And, saying that all phenomena are without inherent existence, merely using conceptual thought as the path, but not directly realizing the essence of no inherent existence, so that at the time of death one remains an ordinary person, like not seeing anything, not seeing temples and the three supports, this is not a sectarian extreme that is neither real nor fundamental. Here, the excellent view of the Vajra Essence Unsurpassed Great Perfection, is not just thinking that contemplation is enough, but directly reveals self-liberation without fabrication, like truly understanding the state of the support and what is supported, this is both real and fundamental, this is taking the result as the path, it is the most unsurpassed fundamental of all paths to Buddhahood, the Longchen Space Yogi said so. Establishing the Nature of Reality. Cutting Off Conceptual Thought. Second, establishing the nature of reality. In the "Meaning Guidance After Death" it says: "First, cut off conceptual thought, in the middle, look for the flaws of the mind, then observe the three places of origin, dwelling, and going." As it is said, it is divided into three parts, first, cutting off conceptual thought: First, who is the experiencer of pleasure and pain, the maker of acceptance and rejection, good and bad? Who is the one who wanders in samsara lifetime after lifetime due to delusion, and what is the maker of liberation and attainment of Buddhahood? Are the three doors of body, speech, and mind gathered together as one, or are they different? Who is doing these things, etc., through observation and analysis, it is determined that the main leader and root of everything is only the mind and conceptual thought, this is like recognizing a thief. In the Longchen Nyingtik it says: "The one and only basis of all samsara and nirvana." And, the Secret Essence Tantra says: "The nature of mind without a root, is the root of all phenomena." As it is said. Similarly, in the Dohas it also says: "The nature of mind alone is the seed of all things, from which arises samsara and nirvana." Etc., the meaning is the same. Looking for the Flaws of the Mind. Second, looking for the flaws of the mind: The body and speech related to the mind, and the mind that clings to I and you, are these three one or different? If they are one, then like the body and speech, the mind should also be seen and heard. Or like the mind, the body and speech should not be seen and heard. If they are not one, then what is the reason for the pleasure and pain of the three doors being the same thing? After observing in this way, the body is stone

Having no parts of minute dust, speech vanishes on its own. After the mind's activity has gone without a trace, it is exemplified by the non-establishment of one or different. By separately examining the object and the subject, arising and ceasing, existence and non-existence, being and non-being, permanence and annihilation, etc., everything transcends the mind, revealing the truth that nothing is established apart from the mind's fabrication. It is nothing at all, and the clear awareness that does not fall into any side is beyond the realm of accurate expression. Knowing that the characteristics of delusion and liberation are pure from the beginning, as stated in the "String of Pearls": "From the very beginning, the original purity, the name of delusion cannot even be spoken. Likewise, what is non-delusion? Therefore, delusion is pure from the beginning." Examining the Three Places of Origin, Abiding, and Going. Third, examining the three places of origin, abiding, and going: In this way, even if one realizes that this mind, which clings to the meaningless as "I" and "mine," has no established object and action and is without inherent nature, still, in the manner of looking at oneself with oneself, how does this essence of mind and awareness first arise from where and in what way? In the middle, where and how does it abide? Finally, where and how does it go and cease? By examining and analyzing in this way, none of these are established anywhere. When the antidote of the observer arrives, the object being observed, its inherent emptiness is completely severed. This awareness that observes cannot be pointed out, the essence of self-knowing, which is pure from the beginning and spontaneously accomplished, naturally arises as wisdom. At that time, what is going or abiding? By looking at its essence, from the unobstructed awareness of self-power that is free from the knowable and the knower, naturally abiding, the state of original purity of primordial emptiness is manifested. As stated in the "Liberation Through Fixation": "Examining everything inside and out is liberation in primordial emptiness." And, "If one knows the ground of all completely pure, then the meaning of the ground is manifested, liberated in its own place." Here, it is said that realizing the naked awareness-emptiness, devoid of establishing an entity, without trace, and free from clinging, is also the same meaning. So, if one thinks that examining the three places of origin, abiding, and going is a repetition of what appeared in the common outer preliminaries, it is not so. Because the former establishes non-establishment by examining the object, while this one establishes it on the essence by examining the subject, as the Omniscient Longchenpa believes. The former is the method of establishing the mind as baseless and completely severed, while the latter is the instruction on the state of abiding in the equality of the meaning that has been severed.
