Remaining in a state of clear luminosity, due to casting it into the expanse with the sound "phaṭ" (ཕཊ་, Devanagari: फट्, Roman: phaṭ, meaning: to shatter), the previous state of non-thought also vanishes. Following that, thoughts of arising sensations, and self-luminous awareness without the antidote of clinging, appear like a vast expanse. This itself is meditation abiding in its own nature. Therefore, recognizing this, awareness transforms. Whether good or bad thoughts arise, by gazing intently at the self-aware, natural state, the ungrasping, self-abiding meditation arises nakedly. This alone is effortless, spontaneously accomplished meditation, like the continuous flow of a river. Having introduced it thus, and having gained some stability therein, by combining various behaviors with one's own experience, and integrating them with meditation, all actions and thoughts arise as the play of dharmata, without distinction between meditative equipoise and post-meditation, without interval between day and night, without objects of acceptance and rejection, without the calculation of meditator and object of meditation, everything is absorbed into the self-radiance of awareness, into the exhaustion of phenomena, the state of primordial purity. Thus it is said. Likewise, in the Uttaratantra, it is said: In the essence, the primordially pure wisdom, there is no existence called ignorance, therefore there is no counting of one and two, not even wisdom itself is established.

Accomplishment is the adornment of the nature of mind. Thus, it should be introduced. Moreover, in the "Self-Arisen" it says: "Beyond the extremes of permanence and annihilation, the stains of the four extremes are self-purified." And: "Awareness without thought is the Dharmakaya. Awareness unceasing and clear is the Sambhogakaya. Awareness appearing in any way is the Nirmanakaya." And in the "Collected Sayings": "When wisdom abides in its own place, there is no distinction in the manner of the three bodies." Thus it is said. Introducing the flowing as the play of mind. Secondly, introducing the flowing as the play of mind: Thus, in the state of mind being clear and non-conceptual, one does not engage in welcoming or sending off the thoughts that arise from the unceasing play of energy. One does not alter the abiding, one does not block the flowing, one does not fabricate the sameness. Without rejection, acceptance, taking or discarding, whatever thoughts flow, one allows them to remain naturally in their self-arisen state. Like the play of waves in the ocean, which does not go beyond the state of the ocean and dissolves and merges into the depths of the ocean; and like salt arising from water dissolving into water; and like a snake knot unraveling without an antidote, the collection of thoughts is the play of the nature of reality, not going beyond the state of the nature of reality, therefore dissolving and merging into the depths of the nature of reality, or simply arising and, without relying on an antidote, naturally liberating into the depths of the primordially pure nature of reality. Thus, in the "Marvelous King Tantra" it says: "Just as the waves of the ocean, all the moving waves of the mind, dissolve into the primordial, fundamental ocean." And Sarahapa said: "Just as salt dissolves into water, so too, the mind dissolves into its own nature." And in the "Collected Sayings": "Just as the arising awareness, is self-liberated like a snake knot." And so forth. Introducing the flowing and abiding as non-dual and equal. Thirdly, introducing the flowing and abiding as non-dual and equal: In the state of mind being non-conceptual, whatever energy and collections of thoughts arise, without rejection, acceptance, taking or discarding, one leaves them naturally. Like the ocean and the series of waves being indistinguishable, abiding unmoving in the state of the nature of reality, and the energy of abiding flowing unceasingly, their nature is indistinguishable. Both do not go beyond the state of the nature of reality, and are equal in the state of the nature of reality. That is, in abiding, manifold appearances arise; in flowing, there is freedom from grasping and being grasped; in sameness, there is no clinging to that. External appearances are manifold.
