Thus, the reality of non-duality is shown. Although those with sharp faculties do not need to meditate, liberation can be attained through mere recitation. This is the essence of the profound path of Trekchö, which, through the union of calm abiding and insight, correctly and accurately generates the meaning of the reality free from elaboration. This is enhancement, causing it to arise in the mindstream. Although there is nothing that is not included in the two, introduction and practice, it is easier to understand if divided into four types of guidance: namely, reason, determination, introduction, and practice. First, the reason for being the actual basis from the perspective of definition is: relying on words that are interconnected, such as profound clarity and appearance-emptiness, as view and meditation, is like seeing a temple but not seeing the three supports, which is a basis but not the real thing. Being free from the elaboration of the four extremes or eight limits, although understood by discernment, is not established in experience, like a Prayasa, like seeing the three supports but not establishing the characteristics. And, taking the mere thought that all phenomena are without inherent existence as the path, without directly recognizing the essence of non-inherent existence, one remains ordinary at the time of death, like not seeing either the temple or the three supports, like a philosophical extreme that is neither of the two. Here, the excellent intention of the Vajra Essence Unsurpassed Vehicle, the Great Perfection of Natural Perfection, without clinging to the coarse view and meditation, directly reveals self-liberation, and establishes the state of the support and the supported as they are, like both the real and the basis. This is taking the result as the path, the unsurpassed reality of all the Buddha's paths, as said by Longchen Namkhai Naljor. Establishing the Reality. Cutting off Thoughts. Second, establishing the reality. In the Sudden Entry Instructions of Cutting Through, it says: First, cut off thoughts; in the middle, look for the flaws in the mind; then, examine the three places of origin, dwelling, and going. Among the three as stated, first, cutting off thoughts: Initially, who is the experiencer of pleasure and pain, the actor of acceptance and rejection, good and bad? Who is the one who wanders in samsara through past and future lives due to delusion? Who is the actor who attains Buddhahood through liberation? Do the three doors gather together as one, or are they separate? By whom is it done? One should investigate and analyze such things.

Therefore, determining that the chief of all, the root, is only mind-thought, is like recognizing a thief. As the "Luminous Expanse" says: "The single one, the basis of all samsara and nirvana." And the "Secret Essence Tantra" says: "The mind-essence without a basis or root, is the root of all phenomena." Similarly, the "Doha" also says: "The single mind-essence is the seed of all; from which arise existence and passing beyond sorrow." And so forth, the meaning is the same. Searching for the flaws of the mind. Second, searching for the flaws of the mind: The body and speech related to the mind, and the mind that grasps at "I" and "you," are these three one or different? If one, then like body and speech, the mind should also be seen and heard. Or, like the mind, the body and speech should not be seen and heard. If they are different, then what is the single function of the three doors (body, speech, and mind) such as pleasure and pain? Having investigated thus, the body is indivisible particles, speech vanishes without utterance, and the mind, like a bird, goes without leaving a trace. Afterwards, neither one nor different is established. By way of example, by examining objects and subjects, arising and ceasing, existence and non-existence, being and non-being, permanence and annihilation, separately, all are beyond the intellect, and the flaws are revealed that nothing is established apart from what is made by the mind. It is nothing at all, and the clear awareness that does not fall to any side, is beyond the realm of accurate expression. Knowing that the signs of delusion and liberation are pure from the beginning. As the "String of Pearls" says: "In the primordially pure original purity, it cannot merely be said to be delusion. Likewise, what is non-delusion? Therefore, delusion is primordially pure." Examining the three sources, abodes, and destinations. Third, examining the three sources, abodes, and destinations: Thus, even if one only realizes that the object and function of this meaningless mind that grasps at "I" are not established and without self-nature, still, in the manner of looking at oneself with oneself, from where and how did this essence of mind-awareness first arise? In the middle, where and how does it abide? Finally, where and how does it go and cease? Having investigated and analyzed thus, none of these are established anywhere. When the antidote of the observer arrives, the self-nature of the observed object is emptiness, eradicated from the root. This awareness of the observer, which cannot be pointed out, the nature of self-knowing, naturally arises as primordial purity and spontaneously accomplished wisdom. At that time, where is the going or abiding? Its nature
